For emergency use vs reusable regular use. Very lightweight and portable.
•Overall Impression:-This is a very nice emergency sleeping bag that’s very lightweight, small and portable.-It’s meant to provide a dry, waterproof, warm sleeping bag in an emergency. It’s safety orange, so it’s going to be highly visible in an emergency.-Note, it’s for one person and is made to fit a single person.-It’s not going to be a camping sleeping bag you regularly use and roll back up. It’s meant for single use or a couple of uses in an emergency. It’s not one that you’ll be able to easily roll back up and keep reusing for a long time. It’s like a thicker, mylar emergency blanket in a sleeping bag style.• Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Good value for the style, quality and how lightweight it is.-Super lightweight and portable. It’s about 4 oz and is slightly smaller than a standard drink can. It would fit well in a backpack, bag, or in your vehicle.-Comes in a safety orange drawstring closed fabric bag to make it easy to carry, store and easy to see in your kit or bag.-7 feet long when unrolled in full. It should allow most people to fit completely in it from head to toe and cover their head for warmth and to stay dry.-Single person use, at 3 feet wide. It’s meant for one person at a time to use.-Waterproof material to keep moisture and rain out and to keep you dry when laying on the ground.-Provides warmth like a thermal emergency blanket does. It’s a similar material to a thermal emergency blanket, but thicker. This is a lot easier than trying to roll up in or tape emergency thermal blankets together to make a sleeping bag.-Safety orange color to make it easy to spot in an emergency or rescue.-Has no unpleasant scent to it.• Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-No issues.• Tips & Thoughts:-I have silver mylar emergency blankets as well and I suggest adding one or more of those (not included) to your kit or emergency bag along with this. They will work well with this as additional warmth or a layer over and under you along with this sleeping bag. Or you could use them as a tent over you while in this bag.-If you’re wanting an emergency or single use sleeping bag, this will work well. But if you want to get a lot of uses out of it and roll it back up and reuse it it’s not really going to last for that. You’ll need a sleeping bag designed for long term vs just temporary emergency use for that.-I put mine in my emergency backpack. I also put it in a waterproof plastic zipper bag of my own for extra protection.

Insurrance policy – hope to never have to use it
That’s right. It’s one of those things that you should have it with you for an emergency situation, yet I hope to never have to use it.This emergency sleeping bag is light at 4.4 oz (or 125 grams) and small 4 inches long cylinder less than 3 inches in diameter. the foil is thin and will is reasonably strong. It should not rip easily unless punctured, or cut. Avoid any sharp edges.Metalized mylar foil has been developed long time ago for space applications with one application being a reflector of heat. This is exactly what this survival sleeping bag does. Once you are inside, the bag will prevent your body heat from escaping into surrounding environment.I can’t tell if the foil used in this particular product is specifically mylar, but construction is exactly the same. It is the reflective layer/coating that give it the heat retaining properties. The bag is long, almost as long as my ‘long’ sleeping bag.I see this product not as something I would rely on during treks but rather exactly as the product description says – in emergency situations only. It is small, light and can save your skin. Hopefully it will never have to subjected to the real life test.

A must have if you visit or live in cold climates
I live in Florida, but grew up in the Northeast. My in-laws still live up there in the middle of nowhere, and my family visits them every year around the winter holidays. If you travel by car or hike in the woods in colder climates, do yourself a favor and get one of these. I can’t tell you the number of times my kids will drive out in the freezing temperatures to go get something to eat or just get out of the house and be wearing a tee-shirt and flip-flops. I remind them every time that they will be in a world of trouble if the car breaks down where there is no cell coverage (very common in the mountains). I hope to never need this, but it brings me peace of mind knowing that it is the car in case something like that does happen. This space blanket/emergency sleeping bag is very compact when folded up properly. If you do end up taking it out, be sure to pay attention how it is folded because you will need to follow that method to get it back in the storage bag.

Not “USA Made” as product title claims
Yet another Chinese product on Amazon falsely advertised as USA Made. Specifically bought and paid more for these because I believe in supporting US business and products. I don’t care how large or small the product is, don’t claim it as something it’s not.
