missing piece and faulty bag
one of the straps on the back of the bag was not sewn to the bag. Looked like it is a manufacturing error not like it ripped free and I didn’t even get what ever the blue thing in the pic was. the headlight’s charging cable was also just unusable like someone filled the end with gum or something. other than that its a good selection of stuff in here from cpr masks to the splint roll. Headlamp is bright but has a tiny battery so doesn’t last very long but on the other hand is nice and light weight long as you don’t need it super bright for more than a few hours. Also just noticed this while writing this review and while not an issue thought it was to funny not to share. the ferro rod comes with a striker that has a little 5 cm ruler on it. however on one side it is in mm on the other it is in Kilometers!! you can see it in the product image if you look close to! each line is 1:100000 of a km which isn’t wrong but… why?

There is some good stuff in this.
This is sort of a mixed bag, literally. There are a number of pretty good items in this survival kit. For example, there is a decent amount of fishing line coiled up in it, along with a couple of unusual but effective looking plastic lures and a few hooks and sinkers. There are also a few “fishing items” that I’ve no idea what they are and have never seen before in 50+ years of fishing. Maybe someone else knows what they are and can tell me. There is also a coil of “paracord”, though nowhere near the 100 meters I believe the ad states. Also, even though it looks like paracord it isn’t quite the stuff. It only has 5 strands inside of it instead of the usual 7. Not knocking it because cordage is always good to have, I just want to set expectations. The kit does have a number of medical supplies that appear to be just fine for survival/first aid types of injuries. Bandages, Iodine wipes, alcohol wipes, even soap wipes to clean your hands prior to working on a wound. I had to laugh at the included tourniquet. It is the blue rubber band type they use to draw blood. While technically it could work as an emergency tourniquet it isn’t the best choice. However, there is a splint that I found very intriguing. It’s rolled up and bright orange and is some form of foam that will mold around the injured limb and once tied into place appears as if it will hold the limb pretty solidly. The tools in this kit, in my opinion anyway, are pretty much just gimmicky stuff with a couple of exceptions, for instance, the hammer/hatchet/pliers/whatever I can’t see being very useful. The hatchet head is about an inch and a half long and really dull. The hammer head is about the size of the pad of my index finger and the whole thing is about 5 inches long. I can’t fit my entire hand around it. Same goes for the shovel, though used properly it could be a bit more functional. The blade of the shovel is smaller than the palm of my hand but if extended out perpendicular to the shaft of the shovel could be useful in scraping snow out from under your tires, but you wouldn’t want to dig a hole with it. The emergency blankets could be very useful, however. There are far too many things to go through them all in one review, but I think you get the idea. There are some pretty good things in this kit and some gimmicky not so good things. So overall yeah, I’d recommend the item as long as you know what you’re in for because it could be a big help in an emergency. One curious thing about these packs I’ll never understand though, why so many bottle openers? I counted, I believe, 15 in this pack alone. Have I been dealing with emergencies wrong all these years?
