Still in disbelief it worked
I always thought cat calming diffusers were a snake oil joke. Well I stand corrected.I have 4 cats who most of the time love each other and two of them are brothers. But they are cats.I had noticed as my two boys reached their later teens years (3-4) from kitten hood (1-2) there was more fighting and not all of it was good. My older cats showed signs of stress.My vet recommended this diffuser. I shrugged it off but after 2 more months of nothing working I caved and bought it.Within 30 minutes of plugging it in I had peach. Solid peace. And for the next 29 days peace⦠and then it ran out. Within 2 days of it being empty war began again.So now I buy the refill packs and donât have anymore problems. Weâre 6 months into continuous use. And only this one works. I tired a few of the others they offer but they didnât work as well as this one.There is a light on the diffuser but it doesnât light that bright in a dark room.Thereâs no scent of noise from the machine.I wish it was better fitted so I didnât have to give up a whole outlet. But for peace in my home itâs a small price to pay.

Made a believer out of a skeptic
I had seen these for years and was always VERY skeptical of their effectiveness. However, ever since moving into my prior apartment I had noticed that my timid, shy, more skittish middle cat was even MORE anxious and prone to hiding and I was further worried because I was going to be moving again soon. My mum suggested giving these a try, so I but the bullet and bought the starter set. VERY quickly I saw improvement. No it didn’t magically make him an extroverted, bold cat, but he was hiding less, it didn’t take as long for him to come out of hiding when someone visited, and he was acting less skittish. When we moved it was still VERY difficult, but I had installed one (I bought a second one) in the new apartment, and he had a MUCH easier transition and settled in MUCH more quickly. I’ve noticed some improvement in some bag behaviors with my other two cats as well!When the starter sets were running out I looked for the most cost effective way to get refills, which this turned out to be the best option. I’m EXTREMELY happy with this product and recommend it to anyone who has anxious/timid cats and cats who struggle with change who are going to have to deal with a big change, like a move. If you’re moving and want to try these, I recommend having it in your current home for at least a month, then install one in the new home at least the night before you move into it.As far as scents or other concerns, I have never noticed any scent, I do recommend that you install it somewhere that doesn’t have furniture too close to it or under and overhang, I installed one in the plug under the ledge of my counter and found the oily residue on the underside of the counter and dripping down the wall to the plug, it cleaned up easily though. When you unplug it to refill it it move it, there will likely be an oily residue on it, I just wipe it off and wash my hands.Long story short, this product very much works!

Very easy to use. Each bottle actually lasts 60 – 90 days and has no smell I am able to detect. My cats are sibling barn cats rescued as kittens. They are now exclusively indoors but still very attuned to any unaccustomed sound and even now, at just over a year old, are very suspicious of ceiling fans. One will cautiously approach visitors but the other wonât consider it.Feliway Optimum does not make the cats behave as if drugged or dopey but pretty much like ordinary cats. Their natural fight or flight reflexes are not totally suppressed but seem to be reduced to a more normal, cat-rational level; they are simply more comfortable in their environment and in proximity to people.
