Hydraulic cylinders faulty, a few other issues, but still a superior design
This cat house had some flaws — the hydraulic lifts were stuck fully open and would not compress, so when I installed them, the roof didn’t line up, so I just unhooked them and used the hinges only to secure the roof. The floor board is a single board, not a foam sandwich panel like the sides are, and there were gaps at the edges after installation that I had to pack with an insulation strip like I use to winterize my house windows. There was a scratch on the asphalt paper which I hope won’t leak when it rains. Despite these issues, the design and build are better than several other brands I’ve tried! The look out window helps my cats check their surroundings before leaving, the gangplank walkway is ingenious, and so many other designs online had the roof sloping down TO DRAIN WATER OVER THE ENTRANCE ð¤¦ââï¸ but THIS design slopes the roof backwards from the entrance which ensures no waterfalls when cats walk in or out, so these few shortcomings are worth putting up with for the superior design, even if some of the materials were a little subpar.

This product is undeniably charming, but the overall craftsmanship leaves much to be desired. The wood is quite soft, and during assembly, it split twice while screwing the parts together, which raises concerns about its durability. Iâm skeptical about its long-term weather resistance given the gaps between nearly all of the seams and connecting areas, including the floorboard. To address this, Iâve inserted an electrical heating pad (specifically for pets) inside, and fortunately (unfortunately), the gaps in the floorboard/walls easily accommodated the power cord without any modification.One of the features I appreciate is the ample sizeâitâs more than sufficient to house four small cats comfortably. In fact, without the middle divider, I believe it could easily accommodate five cats, especially since cats tend to pile together for warmth and comfort.However, a significant design flaw is the sealed side window, which is fastened with plexiglass. I intend to modify it into an alternate entry/exit, as many cats are hesitant to enter spaces without an easy escape route. This is a crucial oversight, as some cats may avoid using the bed entirely if they feel trapped.Another concern is the height of the structure, which could hinder the catsâ ability to retain heat effectively. To improve insulation, I plan to seal all corners with foam sealant, as the current setup seems a bit under-insulated.In summary, while the design holds potential and the size is perfect for multiple cats, the productâs overall build quality and lack of thoughtful features make it fall short of expectations. With a few modifications, it could be a much more functional and comfortable option.

Need own tools- screwdriver and drill.
To start the screwdriver included was a flathead- all screws are Phillip head. Fairly easy to assemble. Some screw holes were not done so I needed a drill. In fact most weren’t. Directions are only good enough to get you pointed right direction. Not completely clear. Looks nice. I am happy with end product.

Difficult to assemble but worth it
Bought this as a gift. Was priced well (cheaper than look-alikes) was a beast to assemble although rather remedial lol. Inside room divider was a bit warped but not a problem. Is large and attractive and was a hit! Would recommend!

Ramp installed wrong
Went together fairly easily but ran into some issues, plugs used to help attach walls together were loose, ramp was installed upside down from manufacturer and no screws to hold floor in, after making adjustments seems fairly solid, I took the side window out so the cats have two entryways
