Decent Set for a Starter or Very Occasional Fisherman
I’m not a big fisher, but my kids do get invited often to go with other families when they go on fishing trips. I know they love going, and feel bad because I don’t have any gear or pole myself for them to take – they have to rely on the hosts for all their gear.I thought this, along with a decent pole, will make a great gift combo this year. It’s not particularly fancy, but it’s a start and has enough gear to let them feel like they’re pulling their own weight with their own equipment on the times they do go out with their friends.

Good Starter set
This is a good starter set with most of the items being good quality but not great. Comes with most items to start fishing except the rod and reel. Pliers are ok and the knife is flexible but needed to be sharpened right out of the box. Like the assortment of leaders and fishing lures that it comes with. Do not really care for the pouch system as it is compact but as you move up with gear this is not expandable. Geared more to the lake fisherman than ocean. Great gift for my grandson who has just started.

Not Quite Good, but Not Altogether Bad.
There are a few things in this kit that aren’t bad. The fish gripper looks and feels strong enough to be usable. The fish hook pliers, on the other hand, feel a bit inexpensive and thin. The soft towel is a must-have on every fishing trip, and is useful. The filleting knife looks to be razor sharp and the black finish on the blade would make using under the bright sun may be easier. On the other-hand, the black may heat up a bit easier if left in the sun. The plastic materials of the knife’s handle and sheath seem adequately constructed, but they are all plastic. The line cutting scissors are budget quality, as are the tethers included in the kit.What is confusing to me is that this kit includes some soft-plastic terminal tackle, a bass frog lure (to small to be what I would throw) and a spool of line. I wouldn’t trust whatever brand of mono that’s on this spool, so that’s just trash going back into the environment. The inclusion of tackle in this kit seems like some off-beat value-added proposition when considering the purchase, but there really is no use for this sub-standard tackle along with the fishing tool kit.The take-away I’m left with is to skip this one.

Great fishing kit
This fishing pliers can easily accomplish opening rings, removing hooks and cutting lines. The unique handle curvature design is ergonomic and comfortable to use. The secure locking clips for pliers make storage safer. This is a great fishing kit that’s functional and easy to use!
