Works on my fresh water pole.
Bought it for my ocean rig, but went trout fishing first. It tends to spin on the ultra-light pole, but I donât think it will on the fatter ocean pole. It made casting with the ultra-light easier, so Iâm looking forward to seeing how it helps casting with heavier line. Itâs definitely going to make things easier on the fingers.

Great for braid
I used the cast cannon on a recent surf fishing trip. It worked great. Kept my finger from being cut and cast with ease. Adjusted to it quickly. Used up to a 5 oz sinker without issue. I did have to adjust the velcro wrap once during the trip but just took a few seconds. Left it on the rod and it stores without issue.

I bought 2 and took them out for the week. It’s easy and painless (litterally). I don’t know about yall but casting out all day with braid on a surf rod really starts to hurt my fingers. As a plus I get a good 50ft extra every cast with it since I can really send it without worrying about my fingers.

Absolutely love solved the heavy weight with braided line cutting fingers but…
I am leaving a 5 star review as anyone who surf fishes with braided line knows the pain of casting 5 Plus oz. Of weight and getting there fingers cutting up. Only down fall it moved around on my rods because the grip extends above the reel quite a bit so the adhesive pad did not work, however the product is extremely nice.
