Great for early readers!
My grandson loves the stories and was able to read these before he was 3 years old. The pictures are bright and colorful and the stories are cute. The paperback books come in a little storage carry box which is convenient. Mostly all of the popular Thomas trains are featured in the stories and some that are rarely seen are featured in the books so I found that to be a plus. If you are not sure how to teach a child how to read or how to help a child read the first page gives you some helpful hints. These are fun to take on a trip to do Facetime or to send as a gift

Great book set for my 4 year old!
This set of books is easy to read for my 4 year old. Heâs just learning and enjoys reading these books together. Recommend for any train loving preschooler.

great intro to phonics for train obsessed toddler
May as well start early with phonics learning using something little guy adores.Thomas the Train is a major hit at our house, including the potty training book.Whatever you want to encourage, Thomas and friends will encourage. . .

She loves them!!!
Books are great for teaching a child to read. My only complaint is the size of the books. The books are very small paper back books.

Perfect for Beginning Readers!
This set of phonics books is really well done! Colorful pictures, short CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words, and a strong storyline make for a fantastic introduction to reading. My son loves them and I’m really glad I bought this set. They’re more interesting than the Bob books and unlike the Pete the Cat and Biscuit Phonics books, the word-level in this set is just right for new readers. Each page has a short sentence with just a few, easy-to-sound-out words and a full-color picture on the facing page. Perfect for kids just starting out with phonics. The books gradually increase in complexity and by the time your child is reading Book 12, they’ll likely be ready for the Step Into Reading Level 1 books.

Completely Appropriate!
Good word choice, good topics, kids understand the story, and of course are excited to read about Thomas and Friends. Weâve tried some other phonics sets that turned out to be kind of bizarre or things I didnât really want to explain – like why Pete didnât want to eat any more bananas⦠these particular Thomas books are absolutely perfect for beginning readers, especially if they love Thomas.

Ok but not as good as the older ones
Got these for toddler since we had found older one and loved it. These aren’t the same. Smaller text, shorter books, missing part of the storyline. Wish they hadn’t changed them.

Perfect for my Kindergartener
This is exactly what I was looking for for my Kindergartener who is just learning to sound out words. Within 5 mins he’s able to read the book and becoming more confident. The people who aren’t happy with this set need to buy the step 1 books, there are perfect for the age theyre intended for. 10 stars.

My autistic son is struggling to read. He loses interest in the usual school books so I decided to give these a go. He absolutely loves them and has read six today. I just wish there were more than 12 of them!
