Great go-to resource
I really like this book. I’ve been studying for less than a year and have purchased a few other books on Tarot that I also appreciate very much. I find myself grabbing this one more than I thought I would. Honestly, I bought it because the price was right and now I love it. Each card is given the upright, reversed, numerology, and astrology associations with concise keyword reference. Also, each card is given general, concise interpretations for general, love/romance, career/ money, personal spiritual, and reversed. Simply written and articulated nicely.It’s very colorful. There is a keyword quick-reference guide at the back for Major and Minor Arcanas that I still need to reference since retaining everything that I learn with so many variables on so many levels, is daunting to say the least. As with all of my books, not everything resonates with me as I am learning the language of the cards, but that’s ok…I still reach for this book to strengthen my memory. Sweet and easy.

Thank you Stefanie Caponi for this extremely easy to understand, comprehensive, and practical guide book! It starts with introductions of all scopes, intro to the practice, uses, and even has an exercise where you can introduce yourself to your new deck before diving deeper practices and shows different spreads further into the book!What I love the most about this guide is the glossary aspect for the cards so you can find exactly which cards means what! There’s even resource pages in the back with just the image and the exact title to find what page it’s on (Side note, I uses the Rider Tarot Deck and its the exact one depicted in the book, I recommend this as someone’s who starting out to other beginners who’s just trying to get a feel of the different cards and meanings with a guide that uses the same depictions!)Another thing I adore about this guide is that it does not provide false hope AND it does not drag on. I, personally, really lean away from guides that have grand, lavish promises of immediately solving all your problems, see into the future, all these grandiose possibilities, with little to no information as to how it actually works. This guide however is true to its name and provides the needed information to understand readings without any long filler, as well as making it clear that this is for self intution, self guidance, and NOT a tool to predict the future, more like a tool to look within oneself to reflect and embrace the energy of possibilities while aligning your goals within the process.I am grateful towards this guidebook for aiding in my self discovery journey, as well as the author for providing a wonderful, in-depth guide. Wonderful book. Good size. Easy to use.
I am a beginner in Tarot and wanted a paperback book that would be easy to use, and stay open when I am on a certain page. This one is perfect size. Beautiful pictures and the suits, court, and trump cards are separated by colors, as you can see in my last photo. A perfect guide for beginners, and probably anyone of any experience. I love it!

Whether you’re a secular or mystic tarot practitioner, this guide is great for beginners. I should know, I just got my first real deck not too long ago and am finally getting into performing self-readings!The background information of each card and application to certain topics (career, love, spirituality, etc) really provides so much context that is needed for interpretations. The intro to tarot at the beginning of the book is also really great to start best practices (how to store the cards, etc).I haven’t studied every page in detail yet, but I had some family over recently and had them pick layouts from this guide and then had them pick cards for their own readings. Once I went through the guidebook and explained the meanings of each card, they all made their own interpretations and walked way with a higher sense of knowledge and purpose!Would absolutely recommend this guide!

Informative and modern!
It’s pretty informative. I was hoping it had more details but this is def a good beginning book. It is explained modernly, not like a book I have from the 90’s that’s religiously driven, biased, and outdated thinking. I especially love that she explains the 7 of swords as timing. Yes, it also represents sneaking, but the real “story” behind it is that the guy is stealing the swords to prevent the war, not be a greedy you know what. Think about it, if you’re going to war, why on earth would you all go party in the distance and leave your assets/defenses entirely vulnerable. 7 of swords is more “getting what you need at the right time” than the other common descriptions that are viral out there. Tarot is interpreted by YOU though. These books give us an idea. Plenty of readers don’t identify with their origional meanings at all. So stay open, read as much as you can, and consider this moder, straight forward, no nonsense book! Best- a fellow intuitive and medium from generations of them.
