Pleasantly surprised by how fun this is!
For the record, this is nothing like the original Game of Life (fortunately in my opinion!). Certain characteristics make it similar (like the way the board is laid out, how you put the stars on your player (instead of babies) and the spinner), but the game is a more straightforward board game that kids of all ages (mine are 4 and 8 and equally enjoy this game) can understand and play easily. My 4 year old especially is a huge Mario Brothers fan, so he really enjoyed all aspects of this game and the “mini-games” within the game (highest spin defeats a bad guy, etc.) It is really cute how they incorporated so many Mario-related elements which kept both of my kids engaged. It is a simple play once you get the hang of it and since you do not “need” to collect a stay of every color (doing so increases your likelihood of defeating Bowser in the end only), then the play-time can be shorter if needed. Either way, my kids always want to collect all the stars because that is half the fun!

fun family game
I got this for my son who is 4 years old. Obviously it is above his age, but he does ok in understanding it. We have a monsters inc life game that is much easier to play, so I thought a mario obsessed little boy would love the mario life. He does love it, but the difficulty is a little above him. It makes for a really fun family game where we can play and help him. Our 7 year old daughter understands it a lot better than he does, but no complaints here!

Fun Game, Great To Play With All Ages
This is a really fun game with vibrant colors. The figures are made very well and of good quality and detail. This is a game my 4 year old can play easily even though he can’t yet read. Our entire family enjoys it. The different actions and little mini games you play are always fun and things my four year old can do.I only gave it four stars because it’s nothing at all like the original game of LIFE.

Great For Younger Kids
My whole family loves playing the Mario Party video game, so much so my 5 year old son wanted an âElsa Against Marioâ birthday party (cleverly renamed the Frozen Mushroom Kingdom party). So I wanted him to have a Frozen gift and a Mario gift. I saw this and hesitated. What if itâs bad quality, what if itâs hard to follow … what if itâs just a stupid trash gimmick?? I got it anyway. Most of our board games get retired to the closet anyway.THIS GAME IS GREAT! Itâs a board game version of Mario Party. You select your character, spin to move, and you can move up, move down, go left, go right, just like the video game. You follow several different paths until you reach a star icon (there are multiple star icons). You buy the star with coins you get while moving across the board. And theres cute mini games to win coins like thumb war, rock-paper-scissors, spinning numbers, etc. There are cards for companions (like when you pick up an additional character in the video game). The companion can award you coins if you land on a particular square, or steal coins if anyone rolls a certain number, etc. Itâs so cleverly put together and my 5 year old follows it easily. To win, you âfight bowser,â which is a game of simple addition. The more stars and higher you roll, the more likely you are to beat Bowser and win the whole game. And you decide when youâre ready to fight. The game could take half an hour, or if you choose, it could go on all day.

Good game to play with younger kids. Simple and the rounds don’t take too long. Not just a race to the end. Some luck involved. Daughter seems to love it.

If you like Mario and game of life, this is quite a good mix. The mini games are all quite well thought out and I find this more interesting than the original game of life
