Perfect density, No after smell, cushiony but firm, great size for a 5’8″ gal and made well. I can do all my balance exercises on this without my foot rocking back and forth trying to find a flat firm surface. I’m glad I listened to other reviewers that said “This is the mat you want, Look no further”.

This is quite possibly the best yoga/workout mat on Amazon. I tried and returned 4 other mats before getting to this one. I LOVE this mat. I do HIIT-style workouts at home and I needed a mat that was thick enough to cushion my feet/knees/wrists and did not slip on my hard tile floor. This mat finally did all of those things. It’s thick enough that my wrists and knees do not hurt during floor exercises. It does NOT slip on the tile floor even during fast lateral moves. And I do not slip on it even when I’m sweaty. And to top it all off, it comes in a pretty color. I could not be happier. It’s also a nice size. I’m 5’10” and I wish it was a little longer, but it’s not the end of the world. However, if they ever made this exact mat in a longer version, I would buy it. It is bigger than most “normal” yoga mats I’ve bought, so please don’t let my comment on size discourage you from this product. All I’m saying is that if a longer one ever existed, I would get it. Haha. Another couple pluses that I just thought of: it’s easy to wipe down and clean and it unrolls nicely and becomes flat pretty quickly. I tried a couple other thick mats and the end never fully unfurled. I don’t roll this up super tight, so that probably helps. Also, it seems like it has a sturdy surface that won’t flake or crack. One of the other mats had splits in the surface of it after only one use. I’ve used this one a couple times now with shoes on and the surface is still intact. This one MIGHT even resist dog nails, but I love this mat so much that I am NOT letting my baby on it (no matter how hard he tries)! Wow, I just talked so long about a yoga mat… now y’all know how amazing it is. Don’t try to get the $30 ones if you want a thick mat that won’t slip on hard floors. I’ve tried almost all of them. Just get this one!

Protects my knees!
I’m not necessarily a “Yoga” practitioner, but I make it a habit to stretch everyday. Tension seems to build up in my body a stretching does me a lot of favors. It makes me feel good long-term. It also feels good in the moment. It makes you a more functional human being. There are things that happen when stretching that bring you closer to yourself that I don’t want to attempt to explain or Spiritualize. It’s just a good practice for pretty much everyone regardless of what you believe or what you call it.My old mat was getting micro-tears and for this reason was hard to clean. I knew the new one would need to be thicker because I had to use a foam knee board while doing hip flexor stretches and for things like frog and tadpole pose. The thickness is perfect although I have my reservations about what the durability will be like long-term. It’s definitely denser than a cheap exercise mat, but not quite as dense as I was hoping for. I hope to get at least a year of use from it, but we’ll see. In any case, it’s without a doubt, a wonderful yoga mat for now. I had to double my old mat up in order to do shoulder stands, but this one is thick enough to protect the spine and knees in all the poses I do.I definitely recommed this, although I’m keeping my eye out for a denser mat for sure!

excellent size and stiffness for yoga and anything else
If you’re reading this you are likely trying to discern which of the million amazon products with 1 dimensional pictures actually represent the thing that you are looking for. What I was looking for — anti garbage (durability + multi-purpose), thickness (as I am new to yoga and the whole point of the mat was padding for my knees, hips etc. Figured 1/2 in thick would also be low enough to the ground to balance on), width (i like the challenge to find my own center line and alignment without the mat letting me know). Turns out if a mat is thick it can also be very squishy and therefore hard to balance on … but not this mat. This one is 1/2 in thick and dense and firm. Wow. I bought the purple and the orange for the fam – the colors are beautiful, which is a bonus. The orange I received was better, maybe shipping differences. Having looked at other brand yoga mats, perhaps this price is great for the quality and materials. I initially bought another cheaper brand since I am a newb and wasn’t expecting to actually follow through with my plans to yoga – but it was way too squishy to stand and balance a simple warrior I pose and narrow where you’ll likely be off the matt in many poses (which is not ideal if you’re already 1/2 in off the floor). After 40 days of yoga on this mat, I can say the price was worth it for 40 days of pure FLOW. Slippage is very minimal, and non existent when you start to learn to grip properly. Somedays I was sweaty, I used a microfiber towel underneath the palm. Hope you find what you’re looking for. Namaste.

Para hacer ejercicio esta super, pero para hacer yoga específicamente no lo recomendaría, en los asanas me la paso resbalandome, esta bien padre que este grueso para las articulaciones pero estar cuidando de irte resbalando hace más difícil concentrarte en la practica
