    Incredible resource
I love this book and it’s companion Yoga for Everyone. It’s such a relief to see adaptations for a variety of exercises demonstrated so clearly and with so many diverse people and body types. Modifications are designed to accommodate people with disability, fat folks, pregnant people, people with mobility limitations and more. It also offers great exercises for athletes who don’t desire modified movements. I have loved Louse Green’s app Big Fit Girl for nearly 10 months and am really pleased to have the beautifully compiled book in my collection.

It really is for EVERY BODY!
As someone who sometimes struggles with mobility issues like kneeling or getting up and down quickly from the floor, I found this book to be amazing! With trainers of all kinds in the book, I not only found someone that looks like me but I found movements and exercises I can do with confidence. This will be my “go-to” book for all my workouts!

    No-excuses exercise book.
This is a great book to motivate anyone to get moving. I know there are some days that I would rather just sit around reading and eating chocolates than to exercise. And I have no excuses other than laziness. So this is a good motivator. There are 50 exercises for all body types and of the seven people in the photographs illustrating the exercises, you’ll see a lovely variety of models not using their limitations as an excuse to not use their bodies. The seven include one overweight woman, one amputee, one who’s pregnant, one diabetic, and one paraplegic. That’s enough to make me ashamed of myself whenever I am just feeling lazy. There are five chapters here. Chapter One gives you fitness basics. Chapter Two has upper body and core exercises. You’ll find lower body and cardio work in Chapter Three. Chapter Four is dedicated to stretching and balance. And Chapter Five shows you various combinations for exercise routines. There are many tried and true familiar exercises here but with lots of variations to give you more variety or to help you find the method of doing them that’s best for your body and its limitations. All in all, a pretty good book.

Excellent Fitness Book That Is Disability Friendly
I was pleased to finally see a fitness book with exercises in it that can be done the standard way or modified to fit pregnant women as well as various body shapes, abilities, and disabilities.I’m in a wheelchair and can get down on the floor fast enough (I fall real good) but have a horrid struggle, even with help, sometimes it take s call to 911 for the firemen to help, to get back up so floor exercises are a big no no. I’ve been limited in how many types of exercises I can do so having more options I great!Having a disability and being in the disability community, I totally know that many people choose not to see us and may be offended at some of the photos. But, we are in the world and want to be included in it. Being welcomed to be physically fit with photos of like people in this book is so refreshing. It’s terrific not to be left out or have disability addressed in a patronizing manner.Even the disabled like to look and feel good. We who are disabled don’t look at what we can’t do, we look at what we CAN do. We are the Enabled. And this book enables us even more!

    REAL people for pictures
Tons of pictures to demonstrate how these exercises should be done and variations depending on weight and ability. There are 7 models .. each with a “story page” peppered throughout the book. One is an amputee, another wheel chair bound, … overweight, pregnant, older … these are not super models, they are a variety of people at different stages of life and ability. It kind of takes away the excuse when you see someone without a leg doing the exercise. Each exercise is presented with picture steps “How To” … then variations based on abilities … do you need a chair, to be on the floor? There are so many things to try out. All of these are doable and low impact but they can be vital to range of motion and strength building.I really like that the people in the photos look “real” and not “beyond me” beautiful. Seeing that someone “not perfect” doing these makes it easier to try and keep doing.

Good for some who want to see real life people modeling the exercises.
Although it may be a good book for people who want to see every day people showing you how to exercise, for me it was a bit useless. It really just a book of exercises you can find anywhere. I was hoping to learn a bit more on how to structure works outs to build up to being in shape as an older person. Unless I missed it, all I really got from this was start slow, and build up. That I already knew. I guess I was looking for something a little more.
