MUST HAVE FOR YOUR BOOKSHELVES! HOME AND CLASSROOM!
Better Together is a wonderful book about children and the relationships they have with others and the ever changing world around them. Each letter of the alphabet not only stands for something, it gives an example of a quote a child would say to relate with the comment for each letter. “D is for De-esculate: Decreasing emotions or behavior. ‘Calming down helps me thing about what I say and do'”. These statements are exactly the prompts teachers and caregivers needs to help increase positive behavior strategies at school and home! As a Special Education teacher and community support provider, I understand just how valuable tools like these can be! YOU WANT THIS BOOK FOR YOUR TOOL BOX! Thank you Dr. Boyd for yet another AMAZING book for the treasure trove!Pictures have been BEAUTIFULLY illustrated and represent a diverse character population as well as cultural representations. “I is for Intercultural awareness” and the little girl in a Hanbok will forever remind me of our time in South Korea! So even the illustrations are super special and meaningful to us!

good and easy to read
The book was easy to read but is not very high level. It is best for children about under kindergarten reading level.

Very beneficial for kids!
This was a great book for a couple of reasons. The reader is given 26 key tactics, that help build social skills. Some that I have even forgotten about as an adult. The author was able to tackle topics like Social Cues and Perspective Taking in a very kid friendly/age appropriate way. Also, I enjoyed the illustrations and greatly appreciated the diverse characters throughout. This is now at the top of my list for Social/Emotional books! Plus, I highly recommend for both home and class libraries!

Healthy Coping Skills for Kiddos
Dr. Boyd does it again! What an awesome read. Iâm a huge fan of her first book, B is for Breathe, and love her work! This easy read is great for kidâs coping skills but also adults! Perfect read for a child near you.
Good Day –
This book covers so much that we would like to teach our children about friendship and everyday social skills we use. Empathy, listening with your ears and eyes – body language, intercultural awareness. I would reccommend this book for any child whether you have concerns or you just want to reinforce what you’re already showing them. If you have a child or know a child who is struggling to communicate in a healthy or productive way, entering into a new environment; maybe kindergarten or daycare, any set backs due to covid, etc… this book will help. Children learn best through repitition and this book isn’t very long at all. You could probably squeeze it into almost any routine, your bedtime or morning routines, maybe before afternoon naps or during a snack time if you allow reading. My kids used to love when I read stories while they played at anytime. Anyway, amazing book! I will be reading this along with his other pick of stories everynight! Thank you! Every parent and/or any individual caring for children should have this book and books like it! It also teaches the ABCs at the same time and I had to explain some of the words to him, he didn’t mind asking me^.^ Thank you so much! I love it!

I really love how this book uses the alphabet to give different ideas for social skills. Also, the explanation and then an example of what a child might say to show that social skill. Illustrations are beautiful too.
