Good book but Bad condition when it came
This is a good book. Lots of pictures and interesting for children to read. BUT, I was giving it to a kid as a birthday present, but the book came ripped at the top of the spine. Looked like a used book. I didnât notice until I was wrapping it.

Great book for kids to learn where we all started from
Love this book. So do my kids. Starts off 6.5 million years ago ends with 2020. Mentions everything with time lines and definitions to presidents and all broken down in chronological order with vibrant pictures. From the Stone Age to the Digital Age. Perfect for your 4th – 5th grader to get a heads start in Americas history to be more knowledgeable before they start junior high and high school. Awesome for Junior High kids and High Schoolers to read as well. Iâm 44 years old and this book has and continues to teach me and refresh my memory.

Hilarious reviews
I was on the fence about buying this book. But after reading several previous reviewers whining about the use of common era and how christianity was âleft outâ I was curious enough to give it a try. After flipping through the book I had to literally laugh out loud. Christianity isnât left out at all, thereâs hardly a page between 500-1750 CE that the religion, figures from it, churches, saints, etc arenât mentioned at least once. I counted over 40 references. There is even a two page spread on what life would have been like for a little monk boy and one on the crusades. Christianity isnât downplayed or left out, if anything it was a bit *TOO* christian and Eurocentric. I would have loved to see more on the rest of the world⦠because you know, other people and religions exist too.Overall it is a nice book, with beautiful images for the kids. My children have enjoyed reading from it. We donât use it as our only history book, but as reference and jumping off point to explore more about different time periods and peoples. I am glad they have it around to look through and learn from.

My 9 year old is a keen reader and enjoys history, but, very little history is in the curriculum at school. This book has enough topics, pictures and well-written text to keep her entertained for hours. The book gets taken on road trips etc. I also expect that as she hears of historical events through other sources, this book will provide greater detail. It is an excellent, well-written, high quality book. I greatly appreciate the proper grammar and ‘higher level’ word choices as my kids despise books that are too ‘dumbed down.’ This one; however, has them checking the dictionary as they add a few words to their vocabulary. I’d say that it would be of interest to keen kids age 7/8 up to early teens (depending on vocabulary, reading level and interest). However, it would also work for grown ups to read along with younger kids. Glad that we bought this one.

I bought it for my kids, but I think I read more often than they do.I happened to find a typo on one page, the author’s name of The Tale of Genji should be Shikibu(å¼é¨ ) instead of Shikabu.
