if you love Italy and intrigue, then this series is for you.
The protaganist is likeable and interesting. The plots and settings are varied enough that I have read all the available right in a row and have pre-ordered the next one. That is somewhat unusual for me — I usually burn out after about three in a series.

I have enjoyed every one of the books in the series and this one a bit more. I liked the story, the characters and the extra humor. And I have to admit that Oscar is my favorite character

    Another enjoyable mystery!
TA Williams writes fast moving mysteries around Italy with nice characters and a great dog! This is my fourth book I’ve read in the series and it continues to amuse and entertain. I look forward to more.

    Doggedly humorous
This was a delightful romp of a mystery. I love these Dan Armstrong and Oscar, the people’s emotional black Labrador. I want to read all their mysteries.

Dan & Oscar are on the case, sans clothes?!
Dan finds himself investigating in the nude when a case brings him to a naturist retreat.Williams writes this series in a voice that feels formal as well as British, so it is amusing to have Dan dealing with awkward situations. The mystery itself is fine, but I’m more drawn to spending time with a Brit embracing Italy.

    Clothing Optional
Such a fun story of murder and mayhem on the Riviera and of course Oscar the Labrador’s input. Unusual setting adds an extra twist. With TA Williams you just can’t go wrong!,

The series is an easy read
I like reading about different countries, locales, and cultures. Always interesting to read about the cuisine. If you like books that have 10-50 suspects, a dog that seems to eat more bread than anything else, and 99.9% of people like him, this is the series for you. I don’t feel the need to guess who the bad guy is, but with so many suspects/characters it’s hard to keep track of who is who or have an inkling of the prime suspect(s) and motive. It’s like reading a novel with a lot of foreign names – I need to keep a reference list by name and who they are/what they do. I find it interesting that this book (and others) have only five star written reviews. Who submits the 4, 3, 2, & 1 starred reviews?

This a particularly good story – unusual in its setting of a naturist retreat! This series would make great television! I really love the characters of Dan and his Labrador Oscar – well-written.

Although this is a murder mystery it was a very unusual place where it happened and the story is told in the first person and how he felt about this new experience. And of course there is Oscar the dog a really smart canine. I enjoyed it very much.
