This fishing knot guide is a handy aid to help infrequent anglers remember how to tie various knots. This can also be helpful as a reminder for knots that you just don’t use very often. The FG knot is probably too complex to effectively show on one of these small cards. I would have liked to have seen the loop knot and blood knot instead. The retractor might have other uses and is a little bonus item.

Great for beginners, wish it included a few more common simple knots
Picked this up to attach to my son’s fishing bag. Figured it would save me a lot of lost fishing time tying knots and help him learn and remember the critical terminal tackle connections. To my surprise it worked. The knot illustrations are clear and easy to follow. The card quality and size makes for easy use and so far appear to be durable and long lasting. Covers the basics as far as hook and swivel connections are concerned. Wish it covered a couple line to line or to leader connecting knots like an Albright or a double uni also. I think for the average fisherman you’re probably not going to use the FG or the Bimini twist as much as those aforementioned standards. Both the FG and Bimini are complex knots that require a little more of a working knowledge of the method of tying and knot execution than is possible to explain briefly on a card. Although we use these knots for whipping for big game and shore fishing GT’s, these 2 knots are outside of the purview of the average fisherman. Aside from my feeling that a few line to line knots would have been a better use of this card I think this set is fantastic for a beginner to intermediate level fisher to advance their basic knot knowledge. Definitely saves me from stopping Fishing and tying knots for my son. Retractable clip make it easy to use and reference and clips easily on the waist pack. Definitely worth the money, easy to read and looks good.
