Still reading, but even a few chapters in I have learned so much. A good read for everyone to understand themselves and those around us, and anyone in a situation of inherited depression, etc, a good tool to help break the cycle.

Good At Home Therapy
Some of the books points on forgiveness I think don’t apply to all parent-child relationships. We as adults should accept who our parents are and what they’re capable of but not to our own detriment. the exercises felt redundant towards the end- especially if you dont have a clear family tree and don’t have access to someone who does, but it still did open my mind to a few things.

“The art of making you uncomfortable”
This book will both piss you off and make you feel so much better. I was about half way through this book when I wanted to set it down and never pick it up reading things I didn’t want to read. I’m so glad I kept reading because I can honestly say I actually took away something from this book and feel lighter and more aware of what I should be focused on. I high recommend don’t let the voices in your head tell you to stop reading!

Found this to be a very enjoyable read and hugely uplifting to work through the exercises. My parents helped clear up my family tree and moving back through my recent ancestry was very heartwarming. Understanding how you are repeating patterns and outcomes that have previously been lived by members of your family system is enlightening and will provide you with plenty of rewarding work to focus on.

An eye opener about how our connections are so deep routed that our thoughts and feelings are governed by how we have handled these connections. This book gives the needed techniques to unbind ourselves from the web and get out of the traumas we have carried for so long.
