This book is positive, uplifting and celebratory of each of our differences. It portrays different kinds of children playing together and states: “You should always be kind to those who are different from you.”
The author and illustrator treated this topic with gentleness and respect, with an eye toward encouraging every child’s self-esteem and respect for others. Glad I bought it!

Great message
I love the message of this book, but the illustrations are not very sofisticated and my Grandson was not interested in reading it. ð¢

Starts planting the seed
I like how this book kind of begins to plant the seed about diversity and inclusion. While my child is only 14 months old, I wanted to begin to teach her that just because other people might be different than she is doesnât mean that she should be anything other than accepting and kind towards them!

Weâre all different and IT IS OKAY!
So I bought this book for my daughter because she is special needs BUT as I was reading it to her and my son this afternoon, I realized that this book isnât only for special needs, itâs not only for just children, this book is for EVERYONE! Yâall please go get yâall a copy! Read it to your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, whoever! Itâs a really good book. We ALL are different and IT IS OKAY! When my son throws his tantrums (heâs 3) or gets upset (for example today I was dressing him and two pairs of his shorts which is his size (2t) they both were way too big, well he cried because I guess he thought âwell mom is dressing me to go bye bye and now Iâm not dressed sheâs going to leave meâ well I brought in a pair that fit him and put it on him and tell him itâs okay, heâs okay and he goes âitâs okayâ we usually say that or count or say our abcs to calm us down. All Iâm saying is we all are different. Baby, child, teen, adult, elderly and IT IS OKAY! Donât be afraid to be different and stand out. Goodnight! â¥ï¸

It’s OK to be different
The book focuses on how all kids are different and if you think someone is different from you, they probably have noticed that you are different from them, too. Acceptance is promoted in a lighthearted way. Different skin colour and different physical abilities are mentioned. Other differences focus more on what kids like to do or learn.

I love it.

This is a must have for my classroom

I have seen some reviews that are critical of the illustrations. I find them to be sweet and a bit nostalgic. I did not have any issues with printing or paper quality. To be perfectly honest the message is more important to me. The book is a perfect introduction to observing and acknowledging differences between us all, whether that be our colour of skin or mode of transportation (walking, wheelchair, crutches etc) and my 2.5 year old twins love it. A great way to get the conversation rolling to be followed up with something a bit more substantial as they grow.
