No more line Twish
This is a big improvement over the ordinal line spooler from KastKing line spooler. Works great with both bait caster and spinning reels. It is simple to use. The KastKing Kalibrate fits any rod and spool sizes 3.5â wide by 4.5â diameter. It does away with line twist. This is going to be perfect for spooling new reels. I can’t speak to longevity as I just got the spooler. I can say that after reading the instructions through a couple of times it was easy to set up and get working. The only issues that I had were attaching the device to the rod can be awkward if you don’t have a good place to lay the pole down while attaching it, but not really that difficult. The bands provided for tension worked really well, I was able to put enough tension on it that I had to adjust my drag to reel in the line on a Penn Battle III. And they are easy to adjust, both to tighten and to loosen. I had issues with the line counter right at first, with 20lb braid, .007″, when I put the line in the slot it got underneath the metal guides very easily. It was a small pain to get it worked out from under them but then I stretched the line between my fingers and made sure it was centered in the slot and it worked with no issues. The scissors are not a selling point for this unit, they do not cut well and the handles are soft rubber on the outside and feel spongy when trying to use them. Not sure how long they will last.

I love the Kalibrate so much. It works for almost all my rods and even fits a 1000 yd spool of 50lb line almost perfectly! The scissors that came with it are also my favorite tool that I use for everything and I even bought another Kalibrate just for the scissors! Ever since Iâve bought it, I havenât spooled a rod without it.

However, real world usage is a little cumbersome. It does do what It’s supposed to do, and that’s to let you spool up your reel and get a decent yardage count while negating line twist. But the device itself once mounted on your rod has a very bulky feel to the operation from the weight.
The tension bands are the the secret though. And you can use them with or without using the spooler and get the same results of proper stretching and tensioning of the line. Stick the band on a spool of line, jam a pencil through the spool hole, hold said pencil between your feet, start reeling. I recommend using a new unsharpened pencil.

So this product does what it says it does. Before It was a pain in my rear trying to keep the spool straight, line tight, and reel the line on. I was skeptical about this product but as you can see in the video IT WORKS! I recommend this to anyone who is looking for an easier way to put their line on. Freaking stocked to do my other rods.
The reel in the video is a 2024 Abu Garcia 7000 C3 Catfish special, Shakespeare Catfish Rod, and Berkley Big Game 20lb mono. Line went on tight and straight.

Great for spooling line on reel, not so great for counting
This is a great tool for loading line (6 pound monofilament) on your spinning reel. Letâs you set tension so line goes on even, and loads the spool nicely. No need to have someone else help keep mono spool from being too loose, or getting tangles. Just clamp on your rod and load. However, the counter doesnât really work. Thereâs a tiny plastic wheel inside that the line is supposed to sit on, and as you reel in the line, it counts the feet of line youâve loaded. The line wonât stay on this wheel, and the wheel is loose enough that it wobbles back and forth. I bought this so I could see how much line I actually load onto each reel, so itâs too bad it doesnât work well. Iâm keeping the tool anyway, as it really does help load line on evenly.

Over my expectations
It feels sturdy to the touch, the features I liked the most are the adaptability to different rod diameters and that it is very light. It was definitely a good purchase. I am waiting for new lines to change them in all my fishing reels and it will definitely help me to know the amount of line in each of my reels.
