Perfect for Overlanding in rain, over the truck tailgate.
Perfect for Overlanding in rain, over the truck tailgate. 4 days in Death Valley, lots of rain. Saw Lake Manly. Worked great for coffee and cooking on the tailgate in the rain. I have rollup bed cover, no bed rack. The arch worked perfect resting right on truck bed rails. Attached to wheels. Could still stand up and cook, I’m 6 foot. I have trekking poles I could use to raise it but didn’t have to use them. We had 2 chairs underneath. Warm dry n cozy for 2-4 max inside with butane stove going. Love window. Seal seamed, dry. Packs up easy, light n small like a tent. Well made, looks great. Easy setup with 2 people, fine with one. Did great in the wind and rain. We used nail pegs but stakes are actually nice n beefy. Love the versatility, awning or shelter. We had 3 different Kelty products attached to 3 different rigs in our group, all worked well in heavy downpours. The 2 toggles for rolling up sides are really tight but work. Whish it had 2 per side. Absolutely love this thing for my tailgate coffee bar in the morning. Its a keeper.

    Very versatile.
This is easy to assemble by myself, gives you plenty of room, love the back door and window for privacy but also protection from the elements, the sides when extended and staked provides even more protection and room. I actually McGiver it and connected to my Gazelle tent giving me an ample vestibule where I can hang outside in mild rain and not get water in the tent when I open the door, that way my SUV is free to go and come as I please. The bag is roomy so you don’t have to fight it to get it back in. My only worry is that when you’re by yourself you drag the bottom to place it correctly and however little that is it might eventually wear out.UPDATEAs previously explained I mainly use this attached to my Gazelle tent to add a vestibule, well I left campground to get supplies and to my surprise even though I had absolutely no food a bear got curious enough to get inside, since they can’t open zippers (lol) my Kelty got destroyed by its weight, seems he stood on the walls and broke the poles, thankfully not finding any food it left my tent untouched. I like this so much I just had to accept the situation which was a first in 40 years of tent camping and went ahead and bought another one but now when I leave camp I’ll leave the door open so they can come in and out “inspecting” for the nonexistent food and leave without damage, see if that works since I mostly camp in bear country. Totally worth to replace specially when raining giving me a dry outdoor place to enjoy my coffee keeping me dry.

Easy to set up, bomber in wind, multiple tie-down options
Took me 10 minutes to set it up the first time and less the next. Loved the versatility of it being either a sun/wind shade or attached tent to my van. Basically doubled my protected camp space. Its got numerous options for staking the sides down which is great for variable terrain (rocky ground) or ventilating/screening. One of the coolest features they don’t promote is it detaches in like 1 minute, pull forward, then just stake the whole thing down to cover gear, which in my case was kitchen set-up, cooler, chairs. Upon return, just back up to it, open the gate and secure it to the vehicle. In the interior volume is impressive – a family could also put a couple of sleeping cots in there along with the kitchen. Didn’t know what to expect, but the poles are heavy duty and its well-built. Next time I’ll throw in a tarp for a floor when conditions are either muddy or sandy.

    Great changing tent!
I got this thing to use as an awning for my teardrop trailer, but liked the idea that you could drop the sides and turn it into a full privacy tent for changing clothes or washing-up or whatever. It served the purpose and looked great! I had a few people walking through the campground that stopped to look at it. It was pretty easy to set up by myself and the long straps help you adapt it to whatever vehicle you’re trying to attach it to. I do wish that it had longer corner straps to be able to secure the corner flaps down better when you want to turn it into a full tent… it was hard to secure those in a breeze but I made it work. The other thing I was surprised to find that it did NOT have was loops on the inside to hang things. There was one center loop at the very top to hang a lantern, but nothing on the sides that you could use to hang a mirror or hang a sweatshirt, etc. But aside from that, this worked really well for what I was envisioning and looked nice too. Someone even asked me if it came with the trailer. Putting it away was just as easy, and it fit no problem back into the bag that it came in.

Not perfect, but still good enough.
I’m pretty happy with the quality and functionality of the awning. It has some nice features like the side flaps and the strap storage management. The storage bag is surprisingly nice too. I found it really useful as a carry bag for taking stuff with me to the campground shower while awning was in use. It has a good shoulder strap and works well used messenger style. As other reviews have mentioned though, it does have one really annoying negative. The zipper for the door really should have an outside cover/flap. It weeps water pretty badly when it rains. This one really drives me crazy because you’d think people that design tents would know better. I think it’s a pretty big miss.I use this like an annex for the rooftop tent I have mounted on the bed of my truck and if it were not for the terrible zipper design I would give this 5 stars. It’s a bit expensive, but compared to the cheaper ones I’ve had, the better quality poles, materials, ground pegs, and storage bag are worth it.

Loving this – quick set up and lots of room
Use this on my Jeep Commander. Sets up quickly. Plenty of floor space and height. I keep my ebike, a table and camp chair in it. Granted its not meant to be used without a vehicle to attach too. I’m trying to come up with a way I can drive away from and come back too. And the only tent/shelter I have found that actually fits back into its storage bag with the poles. Gives me an element of privacy and shelter which I appreciate without taking up much packing room in my Jeep.
