Updated Feb 11, 2019:A day after I posted my review informing what happened (comments below) I received an email apologizing for it and asking if I would accept another device free of charge as a compensation. With my acceptance, in 3 days I received other steamer and this one was perfectly functioning and it is really good. The attention didnt stop there as they called me to make sure I was satisfied with the second device sent and also letting me know they were available for anything I’d need.I can say that problems can happen with anyone but the way you choose to address it makes all the difference. I would definitely recommend this seller and product.*****************Just received mine, poured in distilled water as recommended, plugged in 3 different power outlets, but it won’t work! I hear the beep but right after plugging in, the lights stay blinking and the buttons do not respond, the water doesn’t heat up, nothing is working! It is really frustrating!

YOU CAN CLEAN THE GLASS WATER CONTAINER!
I accidentally left water in the glass container and it got a bit moldy. There is no way to really clean that glass container that holds the water easily BUT you can screw the entire top off. I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to take it apart so if you want to do it, do it at your own risk :)First, you remove the tiny screws off the top white part first then gently pull it off. Then under that you’ll find a black plate which sits on top of the glass container. You unscrew that off and gently lift it up. Be careful because there are tubes and two mental prongs attached to it so just lay it gently over so nothing gets detached or breaks. Then you can get in there and clean it. I used some water, white vinegar and a tiny bit of dawn to wipe it down with a paper towel. I rinsed it thoroughly and then gently put it all back together. Worked great after putting it back together. I don’t mind doing this after many uses to keep that glass container clean.The next time I take it apart I will update this review with photos but it’s not that hard to figure it out! If I can do it, anyone can.

The little tabs that keep the steam pipe in the tank worry me, you know heat will damage the flexibility of the plastic and, it means I won’t force them trying to remove the steam pipe for the recommended cleaning of the tank, the little tabs do not slide out of the “main body” and I won’t try to force them.hopefully, using distilled water and regular use will keep mold at baythe device does not “turn off” using the steam button after the tank after water has been used, I unplug it.the instructions are full of the usually silliness so typical of “made overseas” itemsbut… IT WORKSI wanted to use it for skin cleaning and scalp treatments, I’m a senior with thinning hair (clogged pores can be an issue*) and aging skin resulting in skin issuesgood heavens, my hair was even losing its curlafter considering the awkward “bonnet” of the scalp steamer, I decided to try this one with a plastic bag (considered a super size shower cap, similar shape to the cap salons use) draped above it to direct steamI can just see their tech people “OH MY GOD” she’s putting a plastic bag over her head and steaming it!”I cut the bag open on one side, shaping it like a hood, catching the pointed end with a clip in the kitchen cupboard door. the steamer on the counter, me seated on a kitchen ladder.It works! I have to keep adjusting the bag to release some steam (it can become pretty hot), but I can steam my scalp and my face at the same timeabout half a basin of distilled water results in about the length of my patience and results in a nice face pore cleaning, I can only assume it is having the same effect on my scalp since, no way to see itI’m really pleased! and, a great result for the price!*ever have a real salon scalp pore treatment? I wish I could duplicate the chemicals… the salon I used to go to, after seeing friends have increased hair growth (senior hair loss). They used a micro camera and screen to show my my scalp, clogged pores (I had done an extra long shampoo and hot water, a longer than usual scalp massage, my scalp was as clean as I could make it), did the treatment and then looked at my scalp again. After a couple treatments, two closer together at first, I could see new hair growth, especially at the hairline where my hair really curls…the loss of my business in lockdowns and inflation mean, I would not afford to pay the $65.00 treatments, $100 in some locations (and tip)… and, they changed the products they were using, my last two treatments resulted in an itching scalp, they took my request to return to the earlier product as an insult… the camera wasn’t working, the new gal pulled my hair, sigh…just easier and so much cheaper to do it at homeI wish I knew what the product they had been using was, I would try to purchase some of that…I may try a facial cleaner…bottom line, it works… one treatment cost more than this machine so, even with the design flaws, I would say… I am really pleased!Curranty steaming about every three or four days… seeing improvement…and, the salon didn’t steam my face at the same time ;-)understanding the limitations, highly recommended

There are heat guards everywhere so you won’t get burned.The tank isn’t removable, you fill it up through a large opening at the top, so no chamomile tea in this one.The steam arm is a bit difficult to remove, but that may be because it’s new. It also looks like it’s made of glass under the plastic guard.Overall I’m happy with it, time will tell if it will last.
