Best gift for my husband
My husband is impossible to buy for. He’s a smoker and always comments on how if it’s windy or raining out he can take a smoke break at work. I got this lighter as a stocking suffer (he found it so he got it early) and he absolutely loves it! Works in the wind and rain. Also comes charged so could use it right out the package. Easy to charge, easy to use. He even lit a bonfire with it the other night so it works in all sorts of things. I highly recommend this for smokers, but also as a camping necessity. Definitely ordering the 2 pack next time. Great inexpensive gift for the guy that is impossible to buy for.Also, on another note, this is fairly safe. The button to light it is in a place that a kid wouldn’t accidently hit it if they picked it up. We have kids so this was something important but wasn’t really advertised, so I wanted to throw it out there.

Update: These are cool and itâs nice that you donât just throw it out like a bic when itâs done. Seller saw my review and was kind enough to send me the plain orange one (no LEDs) and it does last considerably longer before needing a charge. Still, itâs nice to have a backup to use while the other is charging.The only caveat is if you plan to be in the wilderness for days on end (without ability to charge) you may want a traditional fuel lighter instead.ââLove the concept, but have only had it 3 days and the charge indicator drops from fully charged (4 bars) to dead with about 20 uses.The LED flashlight is useful and colored LED is fun, but if youâre seeking a reliable lighter buy a bunch of old school Bics for the same price instead.

Poor battery life, hard-to-use flashlight, hard-to-use plasma
The battery life on the item I received was pretty terrible. It seemed it could run the flashlight on dim for only an hour or so.The plasma feature is what I really got it for, but the lack of extender really limits its utility. Getting my fingers that close to whatever I’m trying to ignite can create difficulties for all kinds of applications. For example, lighting candles is pretty awkward, since you have to get quite a bit of bulk close to a small target. Additionally, I wouldn’t dare use this to light charcoal or anything with an accelerant on it; you need to light something else on fire first to avoid burning yourself. But lighting other things, like paper, isn’t as easy as you might think: the plasma heats up a small enough area that it can be a challenge to keep the paper/kindling lit.The flashlight doesn’t remember its last setting, so I also found myself constantly cycling through all of the modes to get to the one I always want, and one of those modes you have to go through is an annoying flash mode.I kept mine, because it does work for emergencies, but ended up happier with one that has an extendable plasma end and no flashlight, since the flashlight on this was basically useless and I can just get a really nice small one elsewhere.

I have always wanted to have a lighter and this one is everything and plus more. The light is bright enough to fill up a dark room. Size fits perfectly in the palm and really appreciate the good quality whistle that came along with it. Build quality is amazing with the housing. Haven’t tested under water yet, but I don’t suppose it is for diving anyway. A perfect gift for yourself or others.Update: The disco light while using the lighter unnecessarily takes up battery charge. Also, price almost halved since I bought last month. Certainly doesn’t inspire good feelings.
