So much interesting information to learn!
ПривеAt last, a book that imparts practical skills to children! I purchased this for my daughter, and she has gained so much knowledge already. She even prepared a small salad by following the book’s instructions. The illustrations make it all so simple to comprehend! But of course, it was under my supervision.

    Great for reading together!
“Life Skills for 8 Year Olds” is a very well-written book packed with good advice for its intended age group. It isn’t the sort of book an 8-year-old is going to go get for themselves, though, and there are a few places where the wording might be a bit over their heads. So I would recommend that parents get this with the intention of reading it with their child, discussing each chapter and how it relates to them. It would make a very good jumping-off point for meaningful discussions between them. Definitely recommend!

    An essential read for kids
This book is fantastic! It doesn’t just discuss skills, it offers children practical ideas they can implement immediately. My nephew enjoyed discovering how to manage an emergency and creating a schedule. It’s an essential read for kids of this age.

Plenty of real-life examples in the book
My nephew, who typically sees reading as a burden, really enjoyed this book. It includes plenty of real-life examples and is very accessible for children. He’s beginning to tackle small tasks, and it has significantly boosted his confidence

    A lot of illustrations!
My niece loves the illustrations in this book! They help her understand how to enjoy the book. Sometimes it’s complicated and we read the book toghether. It is also great to note that all advice is current and pertinent, particularly in regard to internet security. Especially the last one. Recommend!

    Not what i thought
i found the style of the writing a bit to progresive for an 8-10 year old’s even though they are little people at that age and there is trully a very needed lessons in the book still cant see why would they sit and read it , i think the title is a bit off and should be adressed to the parents and kids to read togther.non the less it’s a crucial book and one that im glad that the author took time to make .

A Good Resource for Growing Independence
This book is a thoughtful guide for helping kids learn essential life skills. It covers everything from simple chores to staying safe online, with tips that parents and kids can work on together. While the text might suit older or more advanced readers, it’s a great tool for sparking conversations and teaching everyday habits that kids can carry into the future.

Writing and expectations are advanced for an 8 year old
I like a lot of what the book wants an 8 year old to do. Start taking initiative for things, doing for themselves what they can for their space, image, and choices. But I think the writing is too advanced, or the expectations to high of a book written for 8 year olds. I could read this book with him, but it’s not done in a way that I think an 8 year old is going to engage with.

This book teaches fantastic values and ideas, and is definitely something you should buy for your kid and encourage to them to read, or read with them. This book makes compelling arguments as to why things like taking care of your space, pets, taking initiative, being safe, cooking, and chores all promote trust, leeway, and independence from your parents. But not in a way that rules don’t apply to them. But more so in a way that if you earn their trust and respect, you’ll be able to have more independent space and trust.I think a great way to use this book with your child, is to have them read a section or chapter after they’ve messed up in that area. I know at 8 years old, I wasn’t about to read a book on rules on my own!Let me give you an example. You’ve told them for the DANG UMPTEENTH TIME to clean their room. Frustrating. So as “punishment” make them clean their room, of course, but also read section 1 of chapter 1: Take care of your space. I will quote the first sentence: “Do you want your parents to take you seriously?” What a powerful first sentence. If you read this with your kid even, you can even elaborate on these topics like ‘if you show me I can take you seriously, then I can trust you, and don’t have to constantly bug you to do things!’.Overall, the topics are great, and the book treats the child as an equal and doesn’t talk down to them.

My son is 10 and my daughter is 6, have been getting different ideas to teach my kids from this book, by giving them what to read and asking them questions about life skills the have learned. So this is the best life skill book for your child and teach your kids how to live with other people by building friendship, handling difficult decisions with strangers. The best part is building confidence for your children, and household skills like first aid, house cleaning, and pets. The best book so far
