I’ve been wet shaving forever so I’ve pretty much tried them all. Iâve pretty much stuck to the higher end quality shaving products. Over the last few years I’ve decided to steer off course and try a medley of items off my radar or passed over because I wouldn’t have given them a second thought. I decided to see if I was missing anything so I stepped off my high horse, put my shaving products snobbery in check and dove in.Here’s my setup: I did two separate shaves with two days growth each. I used an aggressive open comb razor, a razor blade on the sharper end of the spectrum (on a scale of sharpness from 1 to 100, it’s in the 95 percentile). My first shave I whipped up a nickel-sized amount of lather in a bowl with a quality badger brush and applied on my face. Two days later for my second shave I applied cream on a dry brush directly to my dry face and lathered with a wet high quality synthetic brush.Here’s what I found: Lathers up quick and thick, the lubrication was slick, my blade glided effortlessly over my face. Blade cushioning and protection is excellent, at times it felt like I was shaving without a blade – no nicks, no scratches, no errors. I let the razor’s weight do all the work; I only mention this because when you get that “I don’t think there’s a blade in my razor” feeling there is that tendency to apply a little pressure to the skin. Don’t. Do. It. You will get nicks, cuts, razor burn or all of the above. I was able to get a BBS shave with a WTG and a ATG and a little touchup. Very impressive.Some observations: I find that I need more than the usual amount of water when making a rich lather. What I do in the bowl is build a lather normally and dip my brush to add more water as I go and as needed, I did the same on my face but kept adding water in small amounts, less chance of overdoing it and getting runny. While shaving I found that the lather would build up in my razor as if the lather was too thick, so I rinsed my razor more frequently.In conclusion: If I were in a hurry and needed a close shave with little prep, I would definitely reach for this cream. Smear on face with brush, whip up a lather, shave, rinse, go. I am going to use this cream in rotation. I have not used with a mild to medium closed comb razor yet, but I think it should work a well as my other preferred shaving creams.

Really nice!
This is really nice, and creamy. A little goes a long way. Product is more ‘pasty’ than other pucks out there. But it goes a HUGE way. I opened the lid and there was a tiny piece the size of pea on the side of the lid. I swiped that onto my brush and used just that for my shave. It ‘blossomed’ into a really thick cream on my whole 4-day bearded face with enough to amply cover the back of my neck, bottom of hair line too, which I also shave when I have a 4-day beard of growth. The shave was smooth and great (I used a new blade to start with – likely 4-5 more shaves with it).I can tell that I’m not going to have to use much of this on a daily basis and it should last quite a while. (instructions say to dip brush into paste to set it up for shave)

Nowhere on this pages does it say this is for use with a shaving brush
My usual shaving cream manufacture is “out of stock” on the product I use. I bought this because of the price and number of positive reviews. I thought it was a little thick when I used my fingers to apply it this morning but I splashed some more water on my face after I applied the cream and it worked OK. Imagine my surprise when I read the jar and it referred to using a brush. Oops! I came back here to check and nowhere in this page can I find where it specifies this is for use with a brush. Kind of a big omission I think. Still it seemed to work so I will use it until the jar is empty.

Excellent shave cream!!
So i had been using a double edge safety razor for about 15 years now and back when i started experimented with different razors, brushes and soaps. Settling on TOBS sandlewood for its scent and effectiveness. Both foamy and slick so no razor burns.Tried this as it was a few bucks cheaper when i needed a refill and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent foam and slickness. A little on the tip of the brush goes a long way.Only criticism is that this is almost scentless. I thought I ordered their sandlewood soap and this had the slightest scent of something upon opening, but really none after that. Not a big deal to me though.Would recommend.

Affordable and lasts a long time. Great coverage and lathers just enough so there’s no waste. I will definitely be ordering from here again. I bought 2 of them, the first one I opened I’ve barely made a debt into it and have had it for months. The 2nd one I haven’t even touched it yet. Both of these will last me about a yr and that’s with me shaving twice a wk.

Always good and at a great price!
I’ve purchased this a number of times and am very happy with the performance. I previously used the AOS cream which costs 3-4 times as much and I see little to no difference. The scent is not strong which I prefer since I wear a fairly expensive EOP. As long as they present the great value they do, I will continue to use this.

Sandalwood NOT
I have been a wet shave most of my 77 years and have tried a great many creams. Except for the fact that this cream has little if any fragrance, and definitely not sandalwood, it provides a good shave. Itâs thicker than Proraso but not as luxurious as Pacific Shave cream, my personal favorite. I use a shave brush but the product states you can apply it by hand. Itâs good value
