If you are into exercises and activities that will improve your memory this book is for you. A great read.
I have been into physical and mental fitness all my life and now that I have reached the golden years it is even more essential that I keep active physically and mentally. I saw this 190 page paperback (Keep Your Brain Alive by Lawrence C. Katz and Manning Rubin) on Amazon for a bargain price and I immediately purchased it.I have just finished reading this wonderful book and found the exercises and advice easy to follow. This book has 83 neurobic exercises to help keep your brain active and help prevent memory loss. The nine chapters cover the following material: Neurobic: the new science of brain exercises, how the brain works, how Neurobics works, starting and ending the day brain exercises, brain exercises while commuting, at work, while at the market, at meal times and at leisure. There are also some end notes on the above material. The real value of this book is that it provides some interesting exercises to keep your mind, active, healthy and strong. It also suggests many other ways to exercise your mind in order to improve yourself. If you are seeking a practical and informative book that will help you increase your mental fitness you should check out this book. I found it a fascinating read.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: The Samurai Soul: An old warriorâs poetic tribute).

Easy Read. Neurobic Exercises are Beneficial. Good buy!
This is a reasonably priced, small/easy to read book. It’s small size makes it easy to take it anywhere. The exercises are easy to learn and do. It’s up to you to keep practicing. I keep one copy in my car for those “waiting times” that can be annoying. This, I believe, was a good, reasonably priced purchase. I’v already highlighted my favorites! My most favorites in orange, least favorites in green

A very helpful book on neurobics and the brain
I bought this book out of curiosity, without knowing Iâd like it so much. The book has nine chapters, and it is written by serious experts on brain studies. Then, at the end of the book, it provides reference sources with significant in-text citations. The main theme of the book can be discovered from a sentence in the beginning that says: âOur brains are hardwired to seek out anything new and stimulating.âA little later, what made me continue reading was that the authors said even old brains (like mine) can be made to grow and develop, and added that, âExperiments have shown that when we break our patterns and use our senses in novel ways, we stimulate our nerve cells and thus contribute to the growth, strength, and agility of our brains.”Better yet, a good number of neurobic exercises are given in the main body of the book. Also, the importance of the different parts of the brain, especially that of the hippocampus are highlighted. Some of the exercises seemed to be somewhat of a repeat of earlier ones; nevertheless, they are meant to work if one takes it seriously to exercise the brain so to add neurotrophins to neurons, in order to make the dendrites grow and get stronger.I tried by mixing three senses hearing, taste, touch with some of actions and with eyes closed. I can tell you it wasnât easy, but I may get there eventually, even if writing with my non-dominant hand is a lost cause. This is a book I’ll need to read several more times and refer to occasionally to get the most out of it. And why not? I can hardly wait to get rid of my senior moments.

tiny book contains useful info not read elsewhere and gives some research data
I’ve been having an interesting time implementing the ideas in this book such as using my left hand instead of my right…carefully trying to negotiate familiar places with my eyes closed…in other words, training my brain…enjoyed it as well as having learned new ideas… also glad some research is included…

Therapeutic Interactive Brain Exercises
I found this book in my grandmothers things after she passed away. I thought it was very informative and useful with interactive brain exercises. I ordered it for a family member, who has just been diagnosed with dementia. He has found it very useful, he told me he read it from cover to back and likes the exercises. In combination with his medications, supplements and this book, he appears to be more lucid.

Like it. Bought second one as gift and recipient really likes
Recommended by neurologist for parent with Alzheimerâs at the early stage. Like the book. Makes great sense to build connections between areas of the brain by combining approaches to tasks using multiple senses at the same time in different ways.Gave it as a gift to someone who read it cover to cover in a few days or less and really enjoyed it and has been taking many suggestions. They did crossword puzzles and other things already but this is a different approach a simple but logically seem very comprehensive in the combining of different senses at the same time to build additional connection and neural pathways

Made my brain hurt on a few occasions…no pain, no gain. Between Covid and ankle surgery this made the time more bearable.
