Good mess kit for the budding outdoor enthusiast.
Usually I am very against anything aluminum for food preparation, but I took a chance when I saw this for a black friday deal because it is anodized. For backpacking and camping, this will work well. The weight is appropriate and the design is fairly well thought out.Pros:- Light weight for backpacks and toting it around- A nice carry bag is included that helps to keep everything compact and quiet (I practically silenced mine by including my cleaning handkerchief inside and around some of the items).- Handles are sturdy to reduce spillage and burns- The unit packs together well, regardless of how you arrange things.- The ladle is a nice touch for soups and hot water dispensing- Wood scraping tool and cleaning sponge are great additions, and not included in other comparable sets.- BPA free is good for me!Criticism:- The spork (I believe comes free) was just ok. Was not overly comfortable to eat from or use (sharper edges & loose), as I would have preferred a silicone or similar spork instead, but hey it was free so I will be grateful. I did sand down the edges and put some pressure on the clips and that helped a LOT.- The cups are really small for eating out of. A child would be the ideal user of them, but for adults they are too small. Given that this is marketed for children like scouts and “also” adults, I feel this is not a reason to deduct any rating.Overall, this little set is well thought out, user friendly, and does have merit by usage of good anodizing instead of bare aluminum. I look forward to putting some more meals through this to see how it holds up, but I am confident that it will. I also have to mention that the company is very eager to receive feedback and respond to inquiries – so MalloMe earns points with me for that. This is a great mess set that I will recommend that anyone getting into backpacking or camping try – especially younger people.

Great value for money; high quality and great portability.
Great quality and usability. All components are made from high quality materials, and they feel sturdy when used. I guess, like with any other cooking equipment, good care is needed to ensure longevity. The pot and pan conduct heat really quick, so make sure you have all your cooking ingredients prepped and near by if you don’t want things to burn or spill over. I was glad to see that whatever did stick to the bottom easily came off using the included wooden ladle and/or cold water.I love the size and light weight and the bag they come in. The kit can easily find a confortable spot in any backpack, and is well self contained so you won’t have utensils allover the place.Perhaps the only downside is the size/volume of the pan. The pot volume sufficed for a decent [delicious] banana-peanut-butter and soya milk porridge breakfast for 2, and for cooking 2 big instant ramen packs. The pot might have enough volume for a decent pasta serving for 2 (but I haven’t yet tried it). The pan is more on the size of single servings. If you have a big appetite, two stoves (or 2 burners on one) and cook for 2+ you may want to get two of these kits. Perhaps it’s safe to say that this is for personal use, or will require multiple batches for more people.Overall I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for quality and portability at a very decent price. It certainly kept our tummies and backs happy on our last camping trip.

Product is well constructed very light weight. Works well with my single burner stove with no issues. The foldaway handles are a plus. Packs inside of itself and is very compact

Great Little Set
This is a good compact pot/pan set. Small enough that I just clipped the bag it comes in to my back pack and let it hang while hiking to my camp. Did a great job on cooking a variety of things with these. Easy to use and very compact. These are on the smaller side, so really for single person meals, which was perfect for my needs, but they do offer larger sizes.

Compact, cheap and serviceable.
While these work just fine, they do have some minor issues. You get what you pay for, of course, but the scrub brush started separating a bit after a single camping trip. The pot is thin and cooks fast even over low heat at times. Which is good if you want to rocket something up to temp. Our portable stove at the lowest setting was getting some things burning to the pan or bubbling pretty rapidly. Cook all the time on a gas stove at home and camping, but didn’t want to lug the ancient Coleman liquid fuel behemoth on a river trip.So the pan was more the issue. The largest pot works well for boiling water fast and heating up soups/liquid dishes. However, when the pot is resting on a surface while empty, it won’t stand flat. The handled, when extended, makes it fall over. So as long as you keep stuff in it, or eat out of it directly, it will be fine. When you are serving from it or trying to set it down to add things to it, then it will tip over toward the handle or tumble off the stove. The wooden spoon that came with it is alright, and probably would’ve preferred some sort of attachment to make the handle longer on it.Using this solo, you’d probably be alright. I’d go bigger and probably a fancier kit if you wanted to do something for 2-4 people. We purchased other dishes separate and it worked out okay, but having a larger kit that stacks together a few serving dishes with the pot would be much nicer. The pan is not wide enough to fry up things with ease. I took along a cast iron pan at the last minute with a lot of added weight, because I realized cooking eggs and bacon for 3 people in this thing wasn’t going to be fun.Manage your expectations.

We brought the pot/pan along with us just in case we needed them…we ended up using them almost every day for five days, over an open fire, several times a day and they are still in good usable condition for our next trip. Non-stick, and very easy to clean! Be careful with the handle, because it is plastic. Our handle got a little burnt, but was fine, no melting or anything. Lightweight and sturdy, and the way they are packed together makes it easy to store. Would recommend.
