Love this mat!
This is my first Manduka mat and it is the grippiest I have ever owned. Much better than Gaiam or any other brand. Before this mat, I was sliding all over the place. Now, my poses are secure! This mat might not be as grippy when wet, but I haven’t done hot yoga with it so I can’t say for sure. A drop or two of sweat does seem to make it lose some of its grippiness, but not bad. The cushioning is much more firm than other mats as well.Yes, it does have a rubbery smell, but this fades over time. I’m actually sort of fond of the smell. I guess it just depends on your sensitivities.I bought the mat as an Amazon Warehouse deal. It had 2 tiny imperfections, but nothing I couldn’t overlook for the price and nothing that affects its functionality. I’ve had it for about 6 months now, and so far it’s holding up well. A tiny thread came out of the side but it doesn’t seem to have affected it. I take care to not leave it in the car when it’s hot, as I’ve read that the extreme heat is not good for them. I would recommend this mat, especially if you can get a good Warehouse deal on it. The swirly blue and white color I got is great too!

Powerful and dependable yoga mat
I’m tall – 6’1 and 180 lbs. I owned the Manduka Pro, lost that one, and am happier with this size. It’s extra long but lighter than the Pro, and the thickness does all I need. No pressure on the knees. Smell is not an issue for me at all.SMELLMaybe it’s genetic? I don’t understand the fuss about the rubber smell. First, it’s made out of rubber. But I DID NOT find the smell disturbing. I laid it out on the ground for 2-3 days, there’s nothing foul. Seems people are going overboard.STICKSticky in a good way. There’s good contact and my hands and feet don’t slip.WEIGHTHeavy, but that goes with the territory. It’s a solid, functional, heavy mat.

Great high-grip mat. Worth the price.
I really enjoy using this mat for yoga. It is very grippy for both your hands/feet and on the floor. I’ve seen many cheap mats that simply slide around on hardwood which could make your practice difficult or dangerous.-I’ve had no issues with regards to the weight. Yes it is a little heavy, but this keeps it very stable.-The initial smell is pungent and took about 2 weeks to get to a level where it’s not annoying. The smell (in the air) has faded on my mat (took about a month), but still “sticks” to my hands/feet. I often notice a faint rubbery odor in the shower after using this mat.-Compared to most cheap mats, this is quite thick and comfortable thanks to the high density foam. I’d still prefer it to be a bit thicker since I’m thin. If this is an issue I suggest the pro mat.-I wish the mat was a bit longer, but this is a very minor issue.Overall, I really like the mat and would buy it again. Not that I will need to anytime soon since it’s shown no signs of wear in 4 months of use 2-3 times per week.

I have a Manduka ProLite which I love, but I get too sweaty during heated practices …
If you sweat a lot, this is the mat to try! I have a Manduka ProLite which I love, but I get too sweaty during heated practices and using a towel does not cut it for me. I recently purchased the Lululemon mat after trying one out and loving it, but they have changed the design and I found myself slipping and sliding just as bad, and even worse the mat was sliding around on the floor(something my Manduka never does).I returned the Lulu and decided to give this mat a shot. It is absolutely perfect! I’ve only used it once, but right off the bat the grip was unparalleled. I recall someone saying on another review there was a break in period for them, but I did not experience that at all. I was able to stay grounded even when placing my hands and feet in puddles of sweat without slipping in the slightest. The smell is not so bad, especially when you compare it to the Lulu mat. It doesn’t smell as chemically and it’s already not as strong having it less than a week and airing it out. Something to keep in mind that I was told by Manduka’s customer service: this mat is biodegradable and using it in a heated environment and exposure to moisture can speed up the breakdown process. Seems a bit strange for a mat seemingly specified for use in a hot yoga environment, and it’s what made me get the Lulu in the first place. Not sure how the mat will age or how long it will last, so that could change my review, but for now I am so happy I found the mat I’ve been looking for!

Still on the quest for the perfect yoga mat.
I am a yoga teacher, and I’m on my mat *a lot*. I bought this mat in July 2014, and I am really disappointed to say I’m not in love with it.I bought this mat because it’s eco-friendly, cushy, and reviewers have said it’s neither slippery nor sticky. The mat has the perfect amount of grip. I can do hot yoga without slipping around too much, which is awesome. But the smell…. omg. It’s been 18 months. I use the mat daily. I wash it weekly. I leave it unrolled 90% of the time, and the smell is still nauseating. For the first month and a half I only practiced outside and left the mat on the porch to air out between sessions. I have to be burning sage or incense to distract myself from the smell, and I have to wash my hands immediately after I’m finished or everything I touch for the next hour smells like the mat. That being said, the smell has dissipated a little bit. My whole studio no longer stinks…just the 6-8′ radius around the mat.I would definitely not buy this mat again. I made the mistake of believing the smell would dissipate as others had indicated, and unfortunately I missed the 30 day window to return it.But I haven’t written off the brand. I am considering buying a Manduka Pro. I hate that it’s not eco-friendly, but there are no indications of an issue with smell.

Good yoga mat. I wanted something thicker mostly so the ends wouldnât curl up. Thereâs also some added cushioning by the added thickness. The mat is heavy though. You gotta make some trade offs. I like it. I gave it 5 stars. Itâs exac what I wanted
