A Caldecott Honor winner!
Micha Archer’s beautiful, detailed collages give readers a recent outlook on the splendors of nature.
When two curious children embark on a “surprise stroll,” they let their imaginations soar as they have a look at the world in a complete new mild. They’ve thought-provoking questions for all the pieces they see: Is the solar the world’s mild bulb? Is grime the world’s pores and skin? Are rivers the earth’s veins? Is the wind the world respiratory? I ponder . . . Younger readers will surprise too, as they ponder these beautiful pages and make every kind of latest connections. What a beautiful world certainly!

Wonder Walkers is a Wonder to Behold!
Exquisite, detailed collages and such reflective, mindful text. This book is a must-have for nature lovers!

A charming invitation to explore nature.
WONDER WALKERSâA Caldicott Honor book by Micha Archer is a thoughtful invitation to explore the marvels of nature.A young girl and boy set out on a âwonder walkâ that is filled with questions. Is the sun the worldâs light bulb? Do mountains have bones? Are trees the skyâs legs? Their trek takes them from meadow to mountain, river to sea shore. The short sentences carry a single focus reminiscent of a childâs inquisitive voice. This minimalist language invites readers to focus on the fascinating details of the illustrations composed of a medley of intricately patterned papers in rich colors. The visual complexity and movement is an excellent contrast with the brief text.Archer has captured the essence of a childhood that is filled with one âwhy?â after another. This charming book could easily inspire young audiences to ask a host of their own questionsâor better yet, pursue their own nature explorations.Additionally, the illustrations could provide a model for readers to create their own collages of varied materials. For ages 3-7Recommended for home and school libraries.

Creatively inspiring and beautiful too
This book is lovely and encourages observation and making creative connections to natural elements and processes. Iâm sure it would appeal to a range of ages beyond my almost 3 yr old grandchild. With older children perhaps even up to 7/8 Iâd imagine using it to inspire coming up with associations of their own.

This is how children think!
I really enjoyed this book and will read it often to my students (and their parents – appropriate for 2-3 year olds and up). The artwork is beautiful and the “wondering” fits with how children often see the world and brings out their whimsical poetic sides. It is a terrific book to combine with being outside and exploring the natural world.

I read through hundreds of books to pick ones that I bring to forest school to read to kids 3-13. This is my favourite, as well as the kids. Makes them all think about nature differently and grow a deeper connection to it. I read it to every group of kids that I have and everyone of them are captivated by the words and illustrations. Brings up meaningful questions and natural discussions
