    Very happy with these
I love the fit. Fits true to size. Durable like Merrell always is. Quality is fabulous. Very comfortable. Good arch and heel support. I haven’t been outside to check the traction yet but Merrel is trusted for traction. Waterproof was a big thing for me. I love the style and colors too. Definitely a value

    Comfortable
These are very comfortable and durable. They grip well, making climbing over/up rocks easy. The tongue is well padded, making snug lacing comfortable. They’re light weight and have good insoles with far more support than most. However, I did swap the insoles out for my own with hard plastic arches and they fit into the shoe well.I’ve only hiked in heat with them so far but I can say they are breathable and not hot. My daughter has this same shoe and hiked in the snow in CO and said they were plenty warm, with good socks, of course.

Happy with this purchase. Exactly what I Needed!
I realized I needed a new walking/hiking shoe to replace the Skechers that caused my foot to blister. They are the Dlite light weight model and not made for hard walking. I am not a little person. And I walk hard. The Skechers are fine for fashion but this pair was not made for extensive walking. I bought some insoles for the Skechers as I will still wear from time to time.I got these in an 11 wide width and they are very comfortable and give great support.Merrel is a good brand. I tried them on in a local shoe store and they fit ok even without being wide. But at $120, I was not feeling it. So I got home and ordered these for about $85 and they ARE wide width. Comfortable, made well and will do the job.I highly recommend.

Great hiking shoes for a great price
I initially ordered these shoes in a size 7 and 7.5 and kept the 7.5 as the 7 were too small. I am a 7.5 in all my other shoes. I mostly use them to go hiking with my toddler in the parks near us in Colorado Springs. I like that they protect my feet. I especially like the hard toe front that protects my toes from rocks. Overall they are comfortable but a little hard. My feet don’t hurt when I step on sharp rocks so I guess the hard bottom is to protect the feet. But I would prefer them to be softer so I might buy an insert. My feet do overheat in them but I’ve never owned hiking shoes so this might be just a feature of hiking shoes. I never slip when hiking so the traction is really good, which is important since I’m pregnant and don’t want to fall. They are great shoes and stylish enough for my 30 year old self. The price for these were amazing, 1/3 cost of the regular price so I’d buy again if necessary.

Finally tried the Moab 3 and I am so glad that I did!
I have been hiking on and off now for years and I have struggled with foot pain. My previous shoes (New Balance) were used for level terrain but would start giving me pain around the one mile mark. Since I like to hike for about 5-10 miles each time, I would be in a world of pain by hike’s end.Since I wanted to remain hiking, I did a ton of online research and time and time again I would come across recommendations for the Moab 3 hiking shoe. Eventually I gave in and decided to give them a try. After my first 6 mile walk, I had NO pain. None. I was even walking at the front of the group leaving the other members in the dust. All this with no break-in time, meaning no blisters. Note: The New Balance shoes gave me wicked blisters even after taping my heels. The feel of the shoe is rigid and tight, but not painful. I would recommend you sizing up a half size for ultimate comfort. The 9 size fit my 8.5 foot perfectly. You also gain about an inch in height, which was nice. Also, the grip on the sole was excellent. I was walking down stone stairs with ease and no fear of slippage. Conclusion: I’m very impressed with this shoe. From hiking the outdoors to walking miles and miles on the Las Vegas Strip, these held up like no other hiking boot/shoe I’ve worn before. I highly recommend.

Wonderful! I dislike shoes, but I love these.
I don’t like shoes, my feet don’t like shoes, if I can at all get away with going barefoot I will but was going on a winter trip and we’ll, shoes are required. I went shoe shopping and these (and one other Merrell pair) where the only shoes that fit, didn’t hurt, and I have to admit I ended up loving. Right from the box, these fit, and needed little break in time, my feet never felt overly tight or restricted, or unbalanced. They have a great arch support inside and they lace up wonderfully. I would walk in these for hours without my feet tiring out after a few minutes as they aren’t heavy. After months they still look brand new. I did scotch garden them before first wear for extra protection because of rain and possibly snow.As far as size goes? I wear size 9 women’s and men’s almost universally across-the-board in most athletic shoes. According to Merrell I am also a size 9. But in these I ordered a 10 and feel that was the right choice. They fit perfectly with regular and/or thick socks. Just my experience.

    Amazon description incorrect!
Listed on Amazon as men’s shoes, reverified! But shoes that shipped are women’s. Fortunately they run large enough to use.Like the quality and fit. Wide enough toe box for my bunions, but tight enough for ankle support. Love the insole and high arch support. Soles are good for traction and wear. Being waterproof will be great for walking the dogs this winter.

  11. a different name

Merrell Women’s Moab 3 Hiking Shoe, Altitude, 10 W USNarrow. Stiff. Heavy. Ouch. Still wearing my ancient Merrills, which were none of these things. The feet may be years older, but why such an enormous comfort difference in the current models?I’m stitching up the old pair again..
