Nice, concise pocket book. The pictures are excellent and the information is interesting.
Much better than a general book of rocks and minerals, especially if you live in Michigan.I liked the size of the book. It can easily fit in the glove compartment of your car. Pictures were very nice and the information helpful. I will bring this on my rock hounding.

Highly recommended by Michigan Rockhounds
I asked my Michigan Rockhound facebook group for a pocket guide that would help me identify rocks. The majority of them recommended this book. It is logically laid out with photos to help in identifying rocks by type, color, texture and distinguishing characteristics. Exactly what I wanted!

Perfect for your beach bag, it’s tiny!
I love rocks and this book is a great addition to bring with you on trips for identification. It is much smaller in size than I imagined, but I am sure that is in the description and I missed it. It works much better that way anyway! There are good pictures and great descriptions.

Ok
I wasnât very impressed with this book. There are some nice pictures of rocks, but some of the locations seemed very misleading. Also, if I am remembering correctly, there was a picture of petrified wood in this book, which isnât found in Michigan. Gives me doubts to the accuracy of the rest of the information.

I was hoping this book would help me identify rocks found on Lake Erie, Huron and Michigan Beaches but the majority of stones/minerals are found in the UP, road cuts, quarries or mine dumps. It is a nice companion to the book the focuses on Lake Superior rocks and minerals.
