The perfect portable sketch reference. Fun book. Indispensible. Helpful(0) Unhelpful(0)You have already voted this
Finally an art instruction/reference book that understands what we need in terms of form, functionality and information.Sort of a modern day “Fun With a Pencil”.Not a Fritz Schider encyclopedia.- First let’s us say:Thank you for the special creative binding design. This allows the book to lay flat so that we can easily work from the images. The pages being fully sewn in and glued as well.Very clean very strong. Some users falsely claim the pages “are guaranteed to rip out within a year” . The pages are fully secure and will not rip out. The quality of the book construction and materials is very good and a step above most other art instruction books.- Size:We appreciate the format size and find it handy because it is the dimensions and

It’s worth the money
I read some reviews before buying i believe the book was made to look this way its not torn. It’s a solid guide book even though it’s paperback the book doesn’t close in on it’s self. Think of it as a diary or the author’s personal sketch book with detailed notes next to the sketches hope this makes sense.

Small book with good about of simple steps for drawing complex anatomy!
As a Full Tenured Professor of Art, the âMorpho Anatomy for Artistsâ book, specifically the âSimplified Formsâ, is a handy reference book. It visually draws the anatomy of the human body and breaks down into simple shapes very well. The drawings visually communicate the form of various body parts. I purchased this book to use in my classroom as a quick reference guide. It is lightweight and easy to access due to the smaller size. It is full of drawings to quickly problem solve how to draw anatomy with simple shapes that can transform into the human anatomy part being drawn. I highly recommend for upper level high school to college level sophomore.

Good reference book
I saw some complaints about the binding of the book and I actually appreciate the way it breaks off the front part. It definitely looks intentional as the back page of the book is glued to the back cover in such a way that it will not break off. The book lays very nicely flat and when closed, the spine is not warped. This book, to me, is meant for someone who is already comfortable drawing (so not for a beginner). It helps with creating a human form without having to look at a live model.I do wish there was more text but there are plenty of examples throughout the book.

Great reference, little instruction
First off I saw some reviews complaining about the binding. It’s supposed to do that silly. It allows artists to lay the book flat on the table.Only 17 pages of actual text instruction, the rest is example drawings to copy and or reference.Once again this is intentional. And i love it. I was complaining the other day that artbooks spend too much time talking at me when I should be spending that time drawing. This book gives you the idea of his intentions, and then the rest is him giving examples with minor blurbs on what his thoughts are behind the drawings.Follow along! Is the moto I think, I “read” the book front to back in an hour or two, and now the actual work is referencing and applying his ideas. Also researching and memorizing all the mentioned muscles and bones.5/5 Dont missunderstand this little book’s intentions

Excellent
I’ve been searching for different drawing books, and I’ll say that these are one of the best ones I’ve used for reference/practice. I seldom post product reviews but just felt like sharing this. I’m a self-taught artist. I’ve been drawing on & off since elementary school. And drawing has always been my strong point, favorite pastime, and form of escapism. Although I stopped drawing for a while. Now in my 30s, I’m now picking the pencil back up and opening the sketchbooks again after they’ve been collecting dust.I’m a bit rusty, and I’ve yearned to draw again. And this book really helped me a lot in slowly rekindling my latent drawing skills. This is the first book of this series that I purchased. I recently bought a second one (hands and feet) and I’m eager to continue practicing and starting that one once I finish this book. I look forward to buying more of these. I’m loving this series. Neat and compact. I really like the binding style too; how they conveniently stay propped open to be used with ease whilst sketching in a sketchbook.

This book stuffs an incredible amount of useful information into a small package. Be aware that it isn’t a step-by-step guide, but rather defines a process that you can use to guide the (many, many) hours of practice it will take you regardless to become adept at drawing the human figure⦠a much better approach, in my opinion.Comments about the binding being ‘broken’ or something really misunderstand what the publisher has done here. The binding is unusual, but a really very clever approach to getting a paperback book this small to lie as flat as possible without getting destroyed over time. Will definitely be purchasing other titles in this series

Descriptive and easy to follow. An excellent companion for the budding artist venturing into the world of life drawing . Reinforces your understanding of proportions, shape and form as akin to the human anatomy.
