I cant say about your individual studying habits but for me it makes a big difference having this book physically in my hands and able to go directly to any part. Unlike on a device or file it doesn’t feel natural in grasping the material. Its also relaxing being outdoors with nature studying this book, while at lunch or at night not having blue screen light. Good information and i can make notes, use a highlighter, and/or a pencil to mark my answers. Best of luck on your cert.

Works Fine, Slightly Inaccurate
I passed and I used this as my primary study resource along with the official NASM study guide pdf (which is on google for free). It does occasionally focus on some topics that donât really matter so thatâs why you should use the NASM guide to determine whatâs important. Practice tests are very helpful. Overall, it works and compared to the cost of the official NASM self study, itâs well worth it.

Initially I had started studying using this book before I decided to commit to getting my certification through nasm. This book is rather confusing for a couple of reasons:1. They use the word “counsel” quite a bit and nasm makes it clear that trainers do not counsel. The manner in which the word is used constantly can make it hard for anyone to differentiate between counseling and motivating (at least for me it was quite confusing which caused me to fail some questions on the nasm practice tests)2. They use terms that are not used by nasm, such as microelements, which can lead to confusion for those of us unfamiliar with nutrition (the term is actually micronutrients).3. Some (if not all) of the chapters are missing a lot of important information. I noticed this when I went back to review the cardiorespiratory section and noticed that a lot of key words and information were not in the book.It is, perhaps, the intent of this book to just be supplemental information but the lack of important terms and their meanings are not present which, in turn, makes it challenging to trust the information in it.

Unfortunately, it came bent up and messy. But it has great information included, summaries of each section and tests. With the answers and detailed explanations. I just wish it was in better condition.
