High New Balance Quality, Stupid Freaking Bra Inserts
I’m always on the lookout for a good, solid sports bra to hold the girls in place or wick moisture while I am exercising. Having used New Balance products in the past, I was excited to try out one of their sports bras as well.The pros of this product:I’m a D cup, so having a sports bra with a wider band at the bottom is always a plus as it provides a bit of additional support. The band is made with a comfortable elastic that doesn’t have that abrasiveness some elastic bands have and is over 1.5″ wide which gives great support. It also has adjustable straps that are wide at the shoulder which also helps to keep the bra in place. I’m a fan of adjustable straps in sports bras because over time as the fabric starts to wear out, you can adjust the straps to get more life out of the sports bra than those that don’t have the ability to do so.Another pro – which may seem kind of silly – is that it is a bit of a modified racerback bra rather than a typical one. The straps come to the middle as they do on a typical racerback, but then there is a vent hold in the middle of the back below where the straps meet. I don’t know about you, dear review reader, but that is a sweat gathering spot for me. I like the vent there as it will allow more airflow and more comfort during a sweatier workout.The style of the bra itself is also simple enough and “modest” enough that if you’re the kind of person who often will workout in just a sports bra, you could easily wear it in public and be comfortable. Like many sports bras, it’s more of the half-tank-top style.The con of this product:The con of this sports bra is one that is so well known among the sports bra & bathing suit wearing community that there are videos making fun of it. It’s such a terrible con that it knocks it down a whole star for me. It’s those stupid, stupid, gosh dogged padded inserts. How has this “technology” not been improved upon? Why are they not stitched in? Why is there not a better way to fix or reinsert these than a tiny, itty bitty hand hole that even an infant could not fit their hand in? Why can’t we come up with a better method for the much-needed additional support and shaping than these horrible, horrible inserts? It’s 2024, we can do better than this.Other than the inserts, this is a great sports bra. If the inserts aren’t a deal-breaker for you, it’s definitely worth a purchase.

New Balance Wins hands down
New Balance makes tremendous sports Bras. They fit extremely nice and are high quality pieces. I hang dry mine even though they’re dryer safe, and I haven’t had a single issue. I’m planning on getting more when the color schemes change!

Comfy and good quality
I really like this sports bra. It’s comfortable, it keeps things in place like it should, and it washes up well. I like the keyhole detail and think it does help a bit with sweatiness there. Like so many sports bras, this one has the padded inserts (like swimsuits). I wish they were sewn in and non removable because I do need the lining but hate messing with the dang pads.

Comfortable, but has removable pads
As someone with a pretty large bust, I’ve got some mixed feelings about this sports bra. One thing that drives me crazy is those removable pads that never stay in place. They always move around or get lost in the wash. Seriously, either sew them in or leave them out altogether!On the plus side, the bra offers an okay amount of support. It’s not something I’d wear on its own for a workout. I’d definitely need another sports bra underneath. But it’s super comfy for just hanging out around the house. It does a good job of holding things in place and even gives a little lift which is nice.So, while I wouldn’t use this for exercising, it’s perfect for lounging.
