Very light weight material nice to shade yourself with or keep off light rain..however heavy rain usually brings wind, even with a secure string under chin this wasn’t holding up.. overall a great value, comfortable adjustable fit..takes a minute to figure out open & close but like the item used fishing!

Costs more for a winter facemask from 711 that don’t fit right. This isn’t super durable so be careful.says don’t use in extreme weather but who even uses a regular umbrella in extreme weather?!..u just can’t on windy days…common sense.its for straight rain and shade with gardening and walks.and it takes care of both perfectly if you take care of it in return.i wouldn’t use case unless travel to prevent damage.so I just use Velcro strap to wrap and hang it up on my coat hanger.bing bang boom.

The idea seems great but the reality did not make it worth it to me. The wide brim is great, but don’t expect to be able to walk near others comfortably. The strap to head was okay, but not comfortable enough that I’d want to use it very long. It wasn’t for me.

I’ve looked at a lot of umbrella hats over the past few years, but never bought one because the umbrella was always so small that I figured a sun hat and some spray silicone would work just as well and look a lot less stupid.This one is so big, and so inexpensive that I had to try it – AND I LOVE IT. It’s wide enough to keep me completely dry while walking my dogs in the rain, and even without the chin strap cinched up, it stays in place while I bend over to pickup their messes.It’s weirdly comfortable, doesn’t blow off my head in a 5 mph wind, and doesn’t look different from a regular umbrella from a distance, or the side, or even the front unless it’s tilted enough for someone to see the head gear. Maybe I’m just getting older, but I’m not embarrassed to wear it. I will wear it all seasons to keep the rain and sun off me.One day someone will probably invent a more attractive head gear for these things, and I’ll probably upgrade, and I wouldn’t mind if it were just a few inches wider to keep me dryer in sideways rain, and maybe slightly deeper to hide the ugly head gear, but just as it is, it’s an awesome umbrella, and a good investment of $10.

Very solid and nice quality. I wear this swimming so I dont have to put on sunscreen and I hate the blazing sun on me. Great talking starter w/ strangers that I dont really care to talk to but hey…I look dorky so they have to mention it (all in good fun).This are very nice and not flimsy like I thought they would be.Got them pretty quick in the mail as well.

I received the item, and it is poorly crafted. The chin strap is maligned, so if you put it on with the elastic band at the back, it will be lop-sided. Other issue is, I purchased this item because I wanted to be hands-free while riding my scooter to work in the rain, but it says on the instructions “not to use in bad weather” lol. So what really is the point if it’s not usable? This seems more like it was meant to be a novelty, not for practical use. Also, it is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to get it to fold down as flat and neat as it originally comes in the packaging and in the sheath that it comes in. So good luck with that also.Better off buying a rain bonnet or rain visor than this thing. I’d hoped I’d found a solution to showing up to work absolutely drenched on rainy days. I’ll take my chances with the rain poncho I’ve got coming on the way. That, coupled with the rain bonnet should hopefully do the trick and get me to work relatively dry for the most part.Very disappointed with this novelty hat. The concept of it is good, but it’s not practical when put to the actual test. Thankfully it was only 10 bucks, so hardly a feather off my hat. Returning things with Amazon is very easy where I live (have at LEAST 3 return/drop off stations within walking distance), so I’m just gonna send it on in later today when I have time. It’s a shame you can’t use it in actual “bad weather” lol. I don’t see the point of this if it can’t be used for that.

Looks nutty but works like a charm
Reviewed by spouse (but husband note – this thing looks absolutely ridiculous but works amazingly well):OK, this was a crazy purchase, but I think itâs actually going to work quite well. I have had two bouts with skin cancer, but still want to be able to enjoy going to the lake or the ocean, and need more protection than a regular hat can provide. A lot of times the hats get wet and they donât hold their form so they donât provide a lot of protection. Even though this looks a little strange to be wearing out and about in the water, I think itâll serve a really good purpose. It was pretty easy to open. Itâs sort of like an umbrella and you just have to make sure that that little white/clear piece from the inside goes all the way through the top small opening of the âumbrella like coveringâ and itâll lock in place. To get it to âdeflateâ, you just press the little clear/white button on the top of the umbrella and itâll go back down through the hole and will deflate per see. It can get wet with the waves and hold it form and provide significant sun protection. The only thing I think they can improve upon would be making the hat portion inside adjustable as itâs a bit too big for me.
