I’ve been using this shampoo for decades on and off. I’m sure this formula is totally not the same I began using all those years ago, but fortunately it seems to have stuck fairly closely to it’s good formula that seemed to be developed around 12 or so years ago after it went thru it’s big change.
Anyway, this on Amazon did seem to be the real product, & I was thankful to find it on sale here.
It replenishes the moisture in your hair. I use it to rehab my hair from coloring more often as I get older. It is great.
I’ve seen so many reviews claiming this shampoo, or other great moisturizing shampoos like it, and/or conditioners, are making people’s hair fall out.
My opinion, not of course knowing these folks in person, but I’d like to venture out with some explanations of what is actually happening.
I have very great thick hair. I was blessed with genetics in that regard, thank goodness.
Since I began conditioning my hair at age 12, gobs, and I do mean literal gobs of hair come out whenever I wash and condition. I never worried about it because no matter how many hair “wookies” left behind (I smear them on my shower wall to prevent them going down the drain, kinda gross I know, but it saves having to fish them out if the drain with a coat hanger later ð) but no matter the mass quantities of hair shed left behind, I’ve never had any thinning or shortage of hair. I’ve also been cutting my own hair since age 12, but the few times I’ve visited an actual hair stylist, I have asked them about the gobs of hair that come out when I shower. They’ve all said the same thing: that it’s a normal sign of healthy hair. That’s been my experience as well. So I’m just saying, if you use this great moisturizing shampoo, & you lose more hair than usual in the shower etc, please don’t panic. It might seriously only be because this product is actually working.
Now, I can’t explain the poor people who’ve posted with huge thinning spots on their head etc., but I’ve even wondered if it might not be corporate sabotage. This is a great product, & it’s become a staple in many people’s hair routines, so it seems possible that a competing company might pay people to light up the review boards of competing products with wild posts warning about hair loss, preying literally on every girl’s worst vanity nightmare. ð¤·ââï¸ Who knows.
The last possibility is that China & other countries slip in some fake product here & there, as I’ve seen in documentaries. But this seller here seems safe, & I at least have received what I believe to be the real product, & I think I’m on my 3rd bottle now.
Who knows. I just wanted to clarify that indeed, as you moisturize your hair, with any good shampoo/conditioner, it smoothes the hair follicle & the hair. Making it easier for the loose strands to wash away. These are just strands that were going to be replaced by new ones anyway. But yes. There might be a period where you lose a lot more hair in the beginning, then as your hair catches up with the new smoothing shampoo etc, it evens out. But it’s not a negative. Your hair will reap the benefits of being smoother, shinier, healthier.
Also, hair growth literally has seasons. Mine grows longer in the summer but thicker in the winter for some reason. Some articles I’ve read suggest it depends on where you were born & the climate/seasons in that neck if the woods. Wild stuff.
Anyway, just don’t panic about the hair in the shower. Because stress absolutely will make your hair fall out. ð¬

The scent is lovely, the quality is great, and I’ve got more of my natural curls back after a season of frying my hair to the point all I had were frizzed out waves. This shampoo helped bring it back to life.

The best shampoo for fine hair; great value and price
I, like many reviewers, have tried so many shampoos over the years, ranging from high-end salon brands to the grocery and drug store varieties. And none of them have really worked for my hair on a long term basis. I’ve got fine hair, but a lot of it, that gets oily at the roots and dry and frizzy on the ends. Adding in hormonal changes and summer humidity made the quest to find the right shampoo even more challenging. This shampoo just has the right balance for my hair. It cleanses extremely well without being too drying, and lightly conditions without weighing my hair down. It works well with Nexxus Humectress conditioner, but it’s versatile enough to use with different brands and treatment products yuou might already have on hand (I like to use it with It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in treatment). And the value for the price can’t be beat. I was able to catch it on sale on Amazon for $16.99 about 3 months ago and still have plenty to last through the summer. I highly recommend it!

I’m 39 and have tried so many different shampoos and products for my curly hair. It’s fun 🙂 I never fail, though, to go back to the Nexxus shampoo. It’s incredibly moisturizing and never strips my hair, which is a high compliment coming from a curly girl since curls tend to dry out much faster than straight hair, and a lot of shampoos are like detergent. It’s the most luxurious feeling shampoo I’ve tried.

Some of you are too young to remember this, but back in the day this was considered the “It Girl” shampoo.
Around the early 90’s I was a dirt-poor college student and washed my hair with whatever I could afford. But all the sorority girls on campus washed their hair with this.
You could smell them wherever you went. This shampoo was their perfume.
They were in another league.
Fast forward to present day and my teen son is having issues with dry hair. I see this shampoo pop up on my search bar. Didn’t think anything of it. Sounded good. Pressed buy.
As soon as this came in the mail I opened it and a flood of nostalgia washed over me.
This shampoo is the scent of an entire era.
I bought two bottles, one for me and one for my son.
After washing with it I blew out my hair, put a little makeup on, and put on my favorite outfit.
I felt beautiful, my hair was soft and luxurious, and I felt redeemed.
I’m all grown up.
I’m the “It Girl” now.

Für mich wirklich das beste Shampoo weit und breit. Ich kenne es seit 1992 und habe zwischenzeitlich auch Andere ausprobiert, auch echt teure vom Friseur. Doch dieses gute Gefühl beim Haarewaschen und danach ist unvergleichbar. Allerdings nur wenn man es einwirken lässt, drei Minuten. Sonst nicht.! Die Haare glänzen und fühlen sich wunderbar weich an. Und der Duft nach Kokos ist für mich sehr angenehm.
