A New York Occasions bestselling writer and management coach shares his invaluable secrets and techniques for efficiently motivating folks to motion in low-trust, high-stakes environments.
For years, Scott Mann labored in low-trust, excessive stakes environments the place no one was coming to avoid wasting him, his males, or the exhausted majority of Afghans they served. There, he discovered that one of the best ways to get massive sh*t completed and bridge huge divisions is to satisfy folks the place they’re, not the place you need them to be. He calls this method Rooftop Management.
Wherever you reside, work, or play—in actual property, in company gross sales, in HR, for a neighborhood volunteer group, in a non-profit, in politics—the toughest factor to seek out today is genuine reference to different folks. The social developments and fraying of civil society after greater than two years of extended isolation from Covid, mass expertise, organizational pressure, and blinking-red stress ranges on our emotional dashboards have taken a toll that these of us in our personal exhausted majority are solely starting to grasp and recognize.
With inspiring tales about his experiences within the army and candid reflections on civilian life, Scott Mann connects readers to a extra historic, primal side of their nature rendered dormant by the fashionable world. No one Is Coming to Save You exhibits readers how one can navigate the Churn that is dividing us and study to make new and deeper connections to ourselves, to one another, and to the pure world round us.

A true storyteller’s story of hope, courage, connection, & inspiration
Lt. Col. Mann’s story is one of going through the bowels of hell to get to the rooftop, but he doesn’t get stuck in either place & he teaches you how not to either. This book is really about how to connect, how to be brave, step out of your comfort zone and to lead with a humble (even when in the trenches) spirit. Whether it is an Army or your family, Scott gives helpful every day advice on how to step outside of the Churn and leave positive tracks in this world. That we all leave a legacy and how to make yours a positive one. This book is a “how to” of how to move forward with Hope & Purpose in our post 9/11, post pandemic, post recent US election cycle, peri-Churn often very disconnected yet always connected world. This book was written by a real life humble superhero and is filled with his own and other heroes’ extraordinary stories, but my takeaway was that every single one of us can lead and make a difference. I am so grateful Scott is here to continue to share his important story and that I read this book. Thank you, Scott, for all you have done and continue to do for our GWOT veterans and allies.

It’s all about storytelling
In April 2021, as some Covid restrictions were ending, I attended a conference in Houston Texas. One of the keynote speakers was Lt. Col (Ret.) Scott Mann. For nearly an hour about 1,000 people sat riveted to their seats. Iâve witnessed many standing ovations in my life and most begin with a few people standing, then it becomes contagious and one by one people rise to their feet. Not this time. As Scott finished speaking, the room rose in unison.I was so touched that the next day I found Scott, stepped outside my comfort zone (defeating my own resistance), and introduced myself. What followed over the next three years was the opportunity to join a small group at Rooftop Leadership that learned, directly with Scott, the WHY of storytelling. Truly a deep dive into how to connect with people and hone the skills of leadership.Nobody is Coming to Save You is that deep dive. All of the concepts and wisdom in the book are a reflection and gift of a true empathetic listener. One section actually moved me to tears, and who cries reading a self-help book!! That is the gift of Scott Mann.We currently live in a divided nation and world. Nobody is Coming to Save you is the bridge to span that divide and re-establish human connection.

hands down one of the most impactful books Iâve read in a long time.
“Nobody Is Coming to Save You: A Green Beret’s Guide to Getting Big Sh*t Done” is hands down one of the most impactful books Iâve read in a long time. The authorâs no-nonsense approach to leadership and accountability really hit home. One quote that stuck with me: “Are you waiting for permission or taking the lead?” This simple but powerful question made me rethink how often I hesitate instead of taking action.Another game-changing takeaway: “Nobody is coming to save youâso what are YOU going to do about it?” Itâs a wake-up call to own your challenges, stop making excuses, and start creating solutions. This book doesnât sugarcoat reality. Instead, it gives practical, actionable advice drawn from real-life experience in high-pressure situations. Itâs motivational, gritty, and exactly what you need if youâre looking to level up your mindset and take charge of your life.Highly recommend it to anyone ready to face their fears, step up as a leader, and truly get big sh*t done! ðªð

Hooah.
Wow. Itâs not often that Iâve begun a book and read it through without stopping, in one day (nor am I a fast reader). So much that one must experience it themselves- the closet scene, yup been there. My only breaks were the occasions where I had to wipe the feels from my eyes, dang paper allergy I reckon. Buy it. Real world, pragmatic, clear, concise, what a good human being. De Oppresso Liber.

A Hopeful âHow-Toâ Manifesto to Help Find our Way out of Troubled Times
Author Scott Mann helps us imagine how to break through the mistrust and division that characterizes so much of America today and return to our better angels of shared effort and bonds of commitment around the complex problems plaguing our communities, and ultimately, us. Mann matches his hard-earned personal triumphs with instructive failures in a narrative that brims with the wisdom and humility born of a life lived with conviction, courage, and caring. His love of America and devotion to crafting a better future come through with authenticity and with no hint of facile political jingoism. Refreshing and hopeful at a time when despair often feels like the only option.

Scott Mann nails it – we are more divided than ever, but we need to get big stuff done⦠and we canât rely on senior politicians ro unite us – its simply not in their interest. This is how to look objectively at the root causes of what is dividing people and take action to bring people together, from a guy that has established common ground all over the world.
