A Versatile Protein Powerhouse
I recently experimented with NOW Sports Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate in my culinary adventures and I’m quite impressed with its versatility. Opting for an untraditional route, I used it as a flour substitute in a roux, and the result was nothing short of remarkable. The unflavored powder blended seamlessly, thickening my sauce without altering the taste, and adding a substantial protein boost to boot. The neutral flavor profile is a hidden gem for those looking to up their protein intake without compromising on taste. It’s become my go-to when making bases for my Ninja Creami, where it contributes to a creamy texture while keeping things health-conscious.Price-wise, it’s a win. Getting 25 grams of protein per serving with the added benefit of BCAAs, all without breaking the bank, makes this Whey Protein Isolate a pantry staple. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or just someone looking to incorporate more protein into your diet, this product is definitely worth a try.

Unflavored is the best! Pure 100% Whey Isolate.
This is what you want. Clean whey protein. You can add your own natural flavor if you want it. The flavored varieties introduce unwanted ingredients, I wouldn’t recommend those, only the unflavored. Add some fruit, cacao, or clover honey if you need it.I blend (for health and longevity, not lifting). Research the benefits of each for yourself.Whey Protein Isolate (muscles)Collogen (body)Glutamine (gut)Taurine (longevity)Raw CacaoCylon CinnamonRaw Clover HoneyMilkIceDeeelicious and nuuuuutritious!!! Good Whey product, and I compare it to ON’s Any Whey
I bought the 1.2 lb tub to try it out from Amazon. I liked it OK and was going to buy the 5 lb tub, but wouldn’t you know it, the price went from $53 to $62 the next day. It’s now back down to about $60 as I write this post. #$%^.The Now Foods Whey Protein Isolate (Unflavored) tastes OK and mixes well, but it does clump a little. You can see that when you get it in the tub. Also, I have Optimum Nutritions Any Whey Protein to compare it to and the Any Whey doesn’t clump like the Now Whey does. But, the clumping isn’t too bad and not much of an issue if you use a blender. Whereas the Now Whey is unflavored, ON’s Any Whey smells like vanilla and the ingredients indicate natural flavoring. However, it is very low carb, so it isn’t sweetened and doesn’t list any such nonsense as aspartame, etc. in the ingredients. Bottom line is, the Now Whey is a better deal, but if you don’t mind spending more, I think the Any Whey is a better product, but only by a hair just because the granules don’t clump. The Now Whey doesn’t clump badly though.I find the flavor to be just fine for both of these products mentioned and they both mix well with frozen fruits, cocoa or whatever else floats your boat.

Now Foods and this protein are great!
I bought the 1 lb. size to try out the taste, etc of this protein. I’m no nutrician and am choosing not to offer a lot of information on the health benefits of this product. There are already other great reviews that I strongly agree with written by people that know much more than me.Now Foods appears to be, from everything I’ve been able to find/reseach on-line, a very good quality company that produces top notch, bio-active products that are worth spending a few extra dollars on over much of what the copetition has to offer.Whey Protein Isolate is the best, most pure quality of protein available. This particular protein appears to have been made in a way that preserves more of the bio-active nutrients (proteins and amino acids) than how some/many/most other manufacturers process their protein powders. This protein does not seem to have anything in it that is not natural. In other words, all the bad stuff, artificial flavorings, etc have been left out of this product. This protein does clump some. It does have some mild taste that is easily masked by my morning cereal or whatever you mix it with. The taste does not rival that of a chocolate shake, nor does it taste bad. It specifically does not in any way shape or form appear to be foul smelling or tasting to me. It is also hard for me to imagine how anyone could suggest this product would smell or taste foul. (I mention this only because another reviewer mentioned taste in their review.) Though to be fair, taste is a very subjective thing. For how well it dissolves… I put a scoop in my morning cereal. By the time I have made it half way through the bowl, the protein powder has completely disolved on its own.I have no negative comments to offer. I do plan to try Allmax IsoNatural Whey Protein Isolate. It is the only protein powder I’ve been able to find that could possibly be better than this one from Now Foods. The IsoNatural is more expensive. The two products are so close in terms of their perceived quality and nutritional content that I may opt for Now Foods in the end simply because it is cheaper. This is my two cents worth. I hope you find it helpful. Highly recommended!!***UPDATE 3/29/11*** I tried the Allmax IsoNatural Whey Protein Isolate. Here’s how they compared. I like the taste of the Now Foods whey a little better. Neither was offensive. While they were very similar, the Now Foods tasted slightly sweeter where the Isonatural (especially if you got a clump of it in your mouth) tasted a bit like (for lack of a better word) goo. The Iso natural had a slightly higher content of protein by 1 gram. (Note: Their labels use different serving sizes. So, you have to do some math to equal things out.) The Now Foods whey seemed to disolve a little easier. If you are buying small quatities (1 or 2 lbs), they are very similar in price. If you are buying 5 lb. containers, the Now Foods whey is much less expensive. I give the nod to Now Foods!!

Love it! Great protein supplement. Easy on the stomach.
I have always had issues with my stomach and protein powders. When I was younger, I would just suck it up, but now that I am getting older its becoming more of an issue. This protein powder feels great on my stomach! It basically has no taste – so its not offensive, but also not delicious. I am experimenting with things to add to it to give it more flavor. Right now I am mixing the powder, water, and a splash of lactose-free chocolate milk and it tastes great (and still nice on my insides). I will probably be a life-long customer.

Simple ingredients, no artificial garbage.
I am coming from years of plant protein powder as I had switched from whey concentrate which my stomach did not like. Wanted to see if whey isolate would be better on my stomach than whey concentrate was.I got the flavorless one and it tastes like a cheese byproduct or something but I don’t mind it as I take scoop to mouth and drink and mix it with water and done. I like this because it had no artificial flavors, sugars, colors etc and gets straight to the protein. I’ve been using it for a week and I look forward to using it daily. I tried the 19 serving box, and I plan to order the 5lb box next.

This review is my personal view, others may like the taste but not me. It was not acceptable and I gave up. I ended up adding way too much other stuff to get past the taste. Kind of counter productive.
