One Hell of a Christmas
When they say âemotionalâ, they werenât kidding! This wonderful story by Faith Hogan has a little bit of everythingâlaughter, love, loss, life. It sounds like a âlive, laugh, loveâ knockoff but this is so much more. You get a chance to see into Livâs life when she makes a singular decision that could change her lifeâand you get to see both sides! If you donât want to possibly have to reach for the tissues, maybe give it a second thought. But honestly? Worth it.

A somewhat complex, difficult book
Not Rick, Jan – shared account. I had to puzzle back and forth through the book to grasp and understand the conflicting points of view but it was well worth it!

Borders on the supernatural
This is the seventh of Ms. Hogan’s books that I have binged in two months. They are each a treasure with gorgeous prose, intricate and engaging and very different plots and beautifully individualized characters. The First Day of Christmas confused me with what appears to be a parallel universe setting. While it was masterfully done, I didn’t enjoy it.

Sisterly love
sisters, friendships, a narcissistic man and finally seeing the light to let love have a chance with someone special. Her sister passing away and her sisters fiance that promised to look after her and who became her best friend.

An interesting read
I’ve always enjoyed everything I’ve read from this author. This one was as always, well written. Her character development strong and her ability to paint a picture as clear as ever. Dual timeless often tire me out but these were completely different; same moment in time, same characters, but not. The what “ifs”. Triggering for me, both having lost a twin and finding yourself floundering somewhat.

Tough to get though
I love Faith Hogan’s novels that is until now. This was truly one of the most difficult story lines I’ve tried to read in years. What I began to think as maybe the characters having nightmares, was incrediblely hard to enjoy. To the point having to push myself to finish and hope an ending with answers.. didn’t happen.Sorry a totally frustrating read.

The ending let the book down
I usually love Faith Hoganâs books and loved this until the last few chapters. I felt she left out some detail that was required (one being to understand the connection to Finn) and she let the character Pete down as well. The ending was extremely confusing and rushed and I feel it let the book down – couldâve been a great read due to some very interesting and lovable characters but the ending actually just ruined it.

On the first day of Christmas this was a strange read, I am not totally sure if I enjoyed it or not

Wow wasn’t expecting that ending on both scenarios. Very well written and really enjoyed it just wasn’t ready for the ending
daisy dachshund –
Quite a nice story, but found it to be slightly confusing, jumping from one scenario to an alternative one.

A frustrating and disappointing story, especially considering the high calibre of her other books. The dual timeline just doesnât work, and the central character is totally annoying⦠I felt like hitting her over the head with a frying pan, given the manner in which she prevaricated about her relationship with her boyfriend, and was totally subservient to him. For someone who was apparently intelligent, she sure lacked common sense! The ending was confusing, overwritten and far too contrived. It certainly failed to hit the mark, in my opinion.

Although I liked this book and found it hard to put down. I struggled with the way that it was written. The “dual / parallel” timelines left me wondering if I had missed a chapter as suddenly what I thought I had just read made no sense. The characters were very well written and it was a good story although I found the ending bizarre. I had very mixed feelings about what really happened at the end of the book.
