“An inspirational and intimate story effectively instructed.”–Pete Pfitzinger, two-time Olympian
“NAU and Flagstaff symbolize our sport at its finest.”–Meb Keflezighi, 2014 Boston Marathon winner
In a distant Arizona mountain city greater than half a century in the past, a collegiate dynasty was born. Northern Arizona College realized about excellence within the altitude mecca of Flagstaff, a coaching floor for generations of legendary runners. However this faculty with no conventional powerhouse credentials fought to construct momentum and a tradition of success over many years earlier than lastly exploding to turn out to be the nation’s preeminent distance-running crew.
Authored by three-time cross nation All-American Matt Baxter and Corridor of Fame coach Ron Mann, the e-book authentically captures NAU’s humble origins and rising pains, culminating in an insider’s perspective that may delight operating followers.
Operating Up the Mountain is a transferring portrait of an elite squad with colourful characters preventing to achieve the summit of their sport amid the stress of intense rivalries and the jarring influence of COVID-19.
From quaint beginnings to nationwide champs, grit and dedication endure as defining options . . . if you’re operating with the Lumberjacks.

I am almost finished with the book and I have been IN AWE of how much information this book had provided. Iâve been following this team for some time and knowing where and how this team came to be is amazing. Recommend it to anyone whoâs interested slightly in the team and or just running in general.
