I’m a league of it’s own
The Panasonic Arc 6 foil shaver is in a league of it’s own. I bought the Braun series 9 Pro model first, which replaced my Phillips 9000 series rotary shaver. The Braun was better than the Phillips, and I thought it was the top of the line. I ordered the Panasonic because the reviews said it shaved closer. The differences are so apparent as soon as you open the box though, there is no comparison. The head is amazing. More foils, cuts long beard hairs with absolute ease (something the Braun and the Phillips could not do without difficulty) and it shaved closer than either of those. The head rotats in such a way that you would have to really be trying to achieve the wrong angle. The body is so slender and ergonomic. It is a joy to hold and very well balanced. The display is much nicer than on the Braun or the Phillips, and the case is also substantially better. The shaving experience itself, both wet and dry, is amazing. It is much faster, requiring fewer passes, than the competition. The foils feel better than the Braun or the Phillips against the skin and the swivel just makes the whole experience really nice. One shave drains 5% of the battery life which is great for me. Even 10 shaves on a charge would be great but 20 is excellent! This is by far the best electric shaver I have ever used, I would definitely use this over any type of safety razor. The only reason to use anything else would be if you want a closer shave would be to use a high end straight razor or a shavette like a feather.I prefer to use a shave gel and do a wet shave as it is closer than dry shaving, but dry shaving is perfectly fine with this device as well.I am very much enjoying this new foil shaver and I believe that this is better than everything else on the market if one is prioritizing functionality and performance over everything else. The downside would be that this device is extremely expensive as a stand alone, $500 with a cleaning station seems absurd. I would rather have no cleaning station though and no other accessories and just enjoy the close shave and enjoyable experience of using this foil.

Former D/E wet shaver
To set the ground here, Iâve been a double edged wet shaver for the past 5ish years or so. Specifically, Iâve used a variety of Merkur handles with blades from Feather, Gillette, Astra Blades and many others. What that all means is Iâm accustomed to a baby smooth shave. Literally no feeling of hair any which way the skin is rubbed. This move into electric shavers is new to me, and kind of off a whim. As time has gone on, Iâve grown lazy, and what I have come to appreciate from wet shaving slowly became a nuisance. Yes, thereâs quite literally no other way to get a closer shave. But itâs tedious and time consuming; from prepping the brush, blooming the soap, creating a lather, to completing 4+ passes to achieve the ultimate shave, itâs would take me sometimes near 20-30 minutes. As laziness usually does, it leads to change. So I began searching for the quickest, yet still comparable shaving experience. That lead me to two contenders, this Panasonic Arc 6, and the Braun Series 9 Pro. After a few days of intense research, I still had no clue which one would be better for me. Ultimately, I landed on the Arc 6; mostly because itâs sleeker, sexier design, and smaller footprint of the cleaning station. Since I didnât really know what I was looking for, thatâs simply what it came down to.Once it arrived, I was welcomed by a pretty neat unboxing experience. Although the shaver was completely dead, I stuck it in the charging station and it charged up to 70% in a matter of 35 minutes or soâ¦pretty impressive. After adding the cleaning detergent and water to the cleaning station, I set up for my first shave with this beautiful shaver. I had about a day and a half of stubble, which for me is rather coarse with hair laying in all directions. I went to town dry, no soap or cream which is unusual for me. Expecting it to be rough since Iâm used to such a smooth glide, I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth the shaver traveled across my face. Like with wet shaving, I tugged my skin in some areas and did passes in all directions. I was extremely satisfied with how easily I was able to shave my chin area due to the head flexibility, something that Iâm very much not used to and has always been a problem area for me.After all was said and done, I was finished in about 5 minutes, which Iâm sure could be accelerated once Iâm more comfortable with the razor. I was able to touch up my sideburns which was really nice, since I usually have to go to a hair clipper once Iâm done wet shaving for that. All in all, I couldnât believe how smooth my face was. Baby smooth, maybe only 5% less close than with my extremely detailed wet shaving could get. More so, it actually gave me a closer shave than Iâve EVER been able to get on my chin, which I attribute to the head flexibility. I was completely stunned. Blown away with how well this razor performed. Once I was done, I put the razor to sleep in the cleaning station, set it to clean, and walked away. Simple is an understatement..The price is obviously nothing to scoff at, but I truly couldnât be happier with this purchase. Get it, use it, enjoy it. As Iâve always said, pay once cry once. Iâm hoping this razor lasts for years, and I firmly look forward to all future Arc releases from Panasonic.

had the arc 5 shaver for many a year battery completely dead so decided to go the full nine yards and get this one my god expensive but what a shave wet or dry in my opinion first time I used was a wet shave gave me considerable razor burn but with old Panasonic always dry shaved no razor burn went back to dry shaving with this one just as good as the wet shave and no razor burn so very happyvery very close shave must admit that the wet shave beats out the dry shave but only by a hair both shaves are wonderful very happy with this razor.

This is my second Panasonic (replacing my ES-LV9Q). The new ESLS9A is quite impressive (for sure it is newer but even considering that, it is one step up). Shaving with CREMO shaving cream and you have very close to a blade shaving. 5 stars for sure!
