The individual packets are tiny, so if you’re a high-volume pee producer (let’s say 8oz+) you may need more than one packet, which is the only reason I took off a star. The smell is citrusy and not unpleasant, but not something I’d want to sleep directly next to in a tent. If you have a cover for your camp latrine, it’ll keep odors under control. Takes a couple minutes to fully absorb/swell to max size. Does what was expected to do.

Used about 8 of these on a camping trip. Can’t tell it ever got to gel but it may’ve been a bit congealed. Didn’t play with my waste to find out. It might’ve helped deodorizer a bit. I honestly couldn’t tell because I tied it up and tossed it in the dumpster right away. I like the idea of it and hope it is working. My main goal was to prevent waste leaking in the dumpster if the bag ripped but I’d really never know the outcome. I might test it with some fake waste when at home and poke the bag to see if anything leaks…

Bought the gel packets for an outdoor portable toilet. They came in single use packets, held in a flat plastic container with clasp closures on all sides, which made it very convenient to pack with the toilet. I used 1-1 ratio and the material absorbed almost instantly turning into gel. The lemon fresh scent consumed any odors overnight. The gel packets were used for liquid material and no solid waste, so I cannot comment on that validity.Cons: hard to open-there was no notch for easy tearing. I had to use a pocket knife every time.Pro: These are great for any liquid matter. Will keep in my emergency preparedness bag and portable outdoor toilet.

A family member could not get up to go the bathroom due to a broken ankle so we got a bedside toilet for them. Even with frequent changing of the bucket liner, the odor could sometimes linger. This product absorbed fluids and helped deodorize the area. I will use this again for this type of application.

Bought it for camping but it does nothing for pop even though the names states otherwise. For liquid, it absorbs slow and need to use another pack after 2 pees. I donât recommend it
