    Effective
I love this book. It is simple and easy to follow. You go at your own pace. It reminds me very much of compassionate yoga practice; you go at your own pace and no one (including yourself) beats you up about it. All exercises are performed either standing or seated. No getting down on the floor and struggling to get back up. This book seems designed to keep me engaged and encouraged. I am still using one to two pound weights because that is all I can do right now, but I am ready to move up a little more after 6 weeks and that is fine for me. I can tell a difference in the things I do every day and that is all I need right now. I really like this approach as I am pushing 70 and have never had an exercise program. I feel committed to this one. I tried the ebook version and ended up ordering this soft cover because it was easier to follow. I highly recommend this book for seniors like me who want to feel stronger and more confident in their bodies, without having to exercise like they were still in their 20s.

    A Problem
Seated Calf Raises doesn’t match the picture shown. Not sure how the editor let that slip?

    Very appropriate exercises for seniors
I am presently following Paige’s program and I find the exercises are ideal for the senior trainee. Not so difficult and strenuous that they leave you exhausted, but you will know you have had a workout. The program also covers balance, stability, flexibility and certainly strength. The photos and explanations of the exercises are clear and sufficient for a person to follow. There is a definite progression in the program as you move through the 12 weeks, but this is as it should be. You don’t increase or even acceptably maintain strength without increasing difficulty. She has a web site but this seems to be for marketing. I have not yet discovered the way to contact her personally, but I really haven”t exercised much effort trying. I am certainly engaged sufficiently to complete her program and then perhaps contact her for more instruction.

No videos, hard to get good form!
Good content and good explanations. However, actually doing many of the stretches and exercises is not clear as to how to do it exactly. Written descriptions accompanied by just two photos are inadequate.Paige has many YouTube videos. Why none for the exercises in this book? This is a glaring oversight.

    Very helpful
My wife and I work with weights twice a week and found the plans and activities in the book to be helpful. There are plenty of options and a variety of workouts you can select. The book also builds each week. It would be nice if the exercises were explicitly linked to specific muscles and body areas. Strongly recommend the book if you want an at-home weight workout.

    Not just for seniors!
After a friend recommended, I bought this book for my 84 year old mother and have yet to give it to her because truthfully it’s perfect for me (yikes I’m 50!). I have arthritis and often jump in to strength training programs that are too much too fast so I give up. This book is perfect for me. Great speed (doing the 12 week plan) and I’m a total visual person so the pictures with the instructions are perfect. Very very happy with this purchase.

Simple and affective advice for seniors looking to improve their health, vitality and well-being. No one should be put off by the title, this is common sense in action.
