College textbook equal
Reading this book I was surprised at how much alike it is to a a regular textbook issued for exercise science majors and/or personal trainers. Its not a substitute, but it does get straight to the point on many exercise related topics covered in the classroom. For example reading about muscle fibers, it gives a written description and a shortened tabled info, along with a quick index too.

I recommend this book
Very good book, very informative. Reading this book helped me understand energy systems better, so I can design programs considering how energy systems work.

Personal Trainer by Douglas Brooks
I like what I received but this book deals with being a personal trainer after you are either working in it or already at the point of being certified. A lot of what is in this book is already covered in Brooks text book.

Best book for personal trainers!
A “must have” for every professional. Describes with very scientific way all the ways of personal training. As about exercise with clients it’s one of the best. Cannot explain much about the whole bussiness but it’s excellent for the programming and helping your clients achieve their goals safe.

A great book to help identify specific points of study
A great book to help identify specific points of study. A great way for someone interested in how exercise works for different individuals.
Bill Kinsey –
Disappointed
Misleading title and description, a lot of theory, not much practice. No different than the text books issued by every personal trainer certification body.

Too academic in it’s writing style.
Too academic. The title is misleading, as it is almost all theory and goes over so many things we already knew. Not much, if anything new or revolutionary here.

this was just way over my head and not for a beginner like me. I have another year to study and hopefully it will come in handy next year. but not this year…
