overall great, missing a few features
I’ve been a quip user since they started and I’ve been using their standard electric toothbrush. I was pretty excited to upgrade to a rechargeable oscillating brush. As a company, quip’s subscriptions models and sensory friendly toothbrushes have really helped me keep up with a good brushing routine. I love that I can just put brush heads on auto subscription and never need to worry about remembering to change the brush head. As a whole, I like it but I feel like it’s missing a few important features, especially at the price point. This isn’t a smart brush. Given the cost, it really should be. It is just under double the cost of their smart brush. You can use their app and manually enter in your brushing to earn points but it doesn’t really make sense that this “upgraded” brush model isn’t a smart brush. It also doesn’t come with a cover. It has a travel case but if you want to use the mirror mount or charging stand, there’s no cover. If you don’t understand why this is an issue, please google how far particles go when your flush the toilet (be prepared to be horrified and amazed). My toilet is in a separate water closet room so this isn’t a huge issue for germs but what’s keeping hairspray and dust off of the brush? What is keeping my cat from licking the bristles while I’m sleeping? An almost 70 dollar toothbrush really needs a cover. The brush heads have pretty soft bristles. I have sensitive gums and brushing on the gentle cycle was very comfortable and got my teeth feeling really clean. I do prefer the daily setting though. The brush has a sensor that vibrates and flashes red if you are brushing too hard. I only experienced this when trying to brush the far side of my back molar and the brush head sort of got stuck back there. It’s a nice feature, especially if you’re someone who struggles with brushing too hard. I love the 2 minute timer. You divide up your mouth into quadrants and each time it vibrates, you move to the next section. It takes a lot of guess work out of things. 2 minutes is a lot longer than you imagine, especially if you’re somewhat time blind. The brush head refills are proprietary, but they aren’t too expensive if you subscribe to their brush head plan. It’s about 8 every 3 months plus tax and shipping. You can just buy them for a few dollars more. They have deals for first time users that usually have a free tube of toothpaste and the brush comes with a coupon for 15 dollars off your first refill order.

Oscillating toothbrush with fancy features and many disappointments
This is my second electric toothbrush, and it is clearly much fancier than my first one, which did not have oscillating heads and cost, including six heads, only a few dollars more than a single replacement head for the Quip 360 Oscillating Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush under review today. This review is for the Quip 360 Oscillating Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush with Extra Brush Head (value $12 at time of review), so the fancy brush itself is worth about $36 (at time of review) given that a 4-pack of heads (a year supply) is priced on this website at $48 (at time of review). The Quip 360 Oscillating Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush comes charged and works straight out of the box. It has some different speeds and pressures and pauses every 30 seconds to let the user know that it i time to brush a different quadrant of the mouth. (After 4 rounds, it stops). The charge is supposed to last for about a month; I’ve not had it a month yet, but I have not needed to recharge it since it arrived. The toothbrush has a plastic travel case, a mirror mount, and a small weighted base, and the brush head detaches easily. The plastic travel case is large enough to accommodate the battery handle and head attached to one another (not true of the travel case for my other electric toothbrush). It is a perfectly functional toothbrush as far as toothbrush features go.In addition to the high cost for replacement heads, there are a number of features and functions that I dislike about this toothbrush. None of these impede my ability to use the toothbrush, which performs the brushing functions very well, but several are annoying enough that this is unlikely to be my primary toothbrush, and some may well discourage other users too. Here they are:–The handle of the toothbrush is perfectly cylindrical (like a little baby rolling pin) with a curved half-sphere at the bottom. This means that it is impossible to set this toothbrush down on any but a perfectly level surface without having it roll either off the sink onto the floor, or down into the bowl of the sink. Thus the heavy base needs to travel with the toothbrush at all times.–The charger (perfectly normal USB) attaches to the toothbrush with a curved magnetic connection designed to fit the toothbrush very tidily. It is not an especially strong connection (for instance, the pull of gravity on a cylindrical toothbrush base is stronger than the magnetic charging connection, so the toothbrush will still roll off a non-level surface onto the floor, and stop charging in the process). This charger will work for no other product in my bathroom, but would need to travel with the toothbrush on any trips of more than 3 weeks in duration.–The toothbrush doesn’t come with any coverage or protection for its standing state, and it is taller (when assembled) than a standard water glass. So if it is kept in the bathroom in its little stand or even its mirror mount, water particles and dust will be able to settle into it without any barriers.I intellectually know that this is a nicer toothbrush than my old one, but not being able to stand it up, not being able to travel without its weighted stand and unique magnetic charger, the lack of any sort of cover or protection, and the high annual cost of replacement heads all make me like this much less than my current electric toothbrush, which has far fewer features but works much better for my travel and sanitation needs. The Quip 360 Oscillating Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush is fully functional, but not designed for users like me.

Excellent toothbrush
I like quip toothbrushes, so when this came out and I needed an update I decided to try this out. I really like it. It left my teeth feeling cleaner and longer. There are a few different modes to do a general clean, a deeper clean. It was easy to maneuver and set on my back molars. The only thing is I found it you brush too hard it will vibrate and stop to get you to stop. I swapped from a normal toothbrush to this one so itâs a learning curve. The stand and mirror mount are nice to have. I use the stand more than the mount. Since getting it I have not had to charge it. So over a month so far.
