Works for more than you might expect, shaved my head with it and it worked great.
So I have bought this trimmer several times through recent years because certain events caused me to lose them, and I was a bit bummed when I could no longer find it on store shelves. I tried the Oneblade as well, which was the direct competition of this, and I was less impressed with the consistency and performance of that trimmer, even despite how close it was able to get. Recently, I took to Amazon to see if I could find my beloved durablade again, and was pleased to not only find it, but to find it a good deal cheaper than I had previously purchased it for. So for starters, this will give you a very close shave, but not quite as close as a Oneblade or a standard razor, however, the pivot of the head and the built in guard do more to prevent nicking. Using a thin shave gel, I was able to attain an extremely close shave on my face as well, though I normally do not do so with. Now onto the thing that impressed me: I had a quick thick head of hair, and decided I would give this a spin at removing it. I cut my hair down with scissors first, and then spent some time with this trimmer on top and the result, while nowhere near as quick as clippers designed to the task, was excellent. Long story short, it can manage your head if you are patient and attentive, it’s quite good on the face, and it’s also very effective on other regions too. the only real regret is that these do not come with a charging block of their own, so you will have to provide one for it. that isn’t such a big deal.

    Does the job well
I liked more when it comes with USB cable to charge the device.

    It’s an okay shave!
Like I said, it’s okay. Compromise by giving up some closeness of shave for durability and cost. It’s cheaper than Philips One-Blade, but (as other reviewers have pointed out) it doesn’t shave quite as close. The big upside is that the lithium-ion battery carries the warranty to 5 years, which is also the GUARANTEED lifespan of the blade!I’m sticking with the more expensive other one for my face. This, I have discovered makes a pretty adequate “Manscaping” tool. Very forgiving. Maybe they should market it as such. Chest, arms, Jimmy and the twins. Or you could drop 80 bucks on that one that you see advertised everywhere (read some reviews of that one before pulling the trigger).

    FINALLY
I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time, finally found it. I’ve been using a OneBlade for a few years, their “4 month blades” last me 2 weeks, tops. Wouldn’t be a problem if they weren’t so dang expensive. The DuraBlade supposedly lasts years. No, the cut isn’t quite as close, but for the savings on replacement blades I’ll accept the 5 o’clock shadow with a smile.

Does Not Work!!! No Charging At All!.. Very Disappointed!!..
Bought it on Amazon.. So far.. Amazon has been brilliant!.. So I bought this purchase as i have had the smaller one from else where here in Cyprus, & I liked it.. So I went for an slightly better model.. So I went to charge it via the manual.. (same as my other Razor of the same company, Remington…).. Nothing.. No Life.. No light to see if its charging.. So I managed to find another person who had the same model.. which he used to ages.. The Unit was very hot from his USB cable, from the same model.. But no charging light was showing, so to me the thing I was sent was a dud.. Even when it seem to come sealed.. Well the Shaving component seem to be sealed to the packaged.. Which I Assumed maybe the customs the boxing inspection, as i live in Cyprus.. So its not worth me sending back, but i wasted my hard earned money.. for it.. So I’m a bit annoyed.. As I could accept a faulty USB cable.. which it wasn’t.. I’m a bit miffed to say the least.. It would cost me sending it back, so I’m taking it as a loss..

Remington’s Durablade trimmer is an outstanding value.
I finally needed to replace my nearly 10 yr old battery operated trimmer. After much searching, I settled on the Remington Durablade trimmer. This version has the interchangeable small detail attachment, which is great for everything from fine trimming on my goatee to even ear hair. For the price I have zero complaints about the quality. The battery life is good, and the ergonomic design of the handle with it’s rubberized exterior handles great wet or dry. I read the reviews regarding closeness of the shave and was not disappointed there either. Yes, although it’s not shaving as a close as a blade, if you’re like me and don’t prefer the smooth skin look, the you’ll love this trimmer. It charges quickly, and holds it’s charge for over an hour thus far. I don’t shave everyday as I like some stubble, so I anticipate a longer use time between charges than someone who shaves down to the skin daily.Great buy for the money and with the 5 yr blades I will more than get my money’s worth.

I don’t like the skin-feel shaving, it does perfectly to save stubble from skin bald.

    Excellent with weak-minded design flaw
I would give the item 5 stars for its performance and abilities, but only 3 stars because of a weak-minded design flaw. Attend: I travel a lot with a computer, phone, and high end camera, all USB chargeable) and often need to take a beard trimmer with me. My old beard trimmer (need to take sometimes) is failing so I started looking for a replacement. One of my main acquisition goals is “thing count reduction.” An over-simplified example: I learned that the 45W computer USB-connected wall charger needed for my travelling computer would not fry my smart phone so I was able to shed my phone charger. So, when I saw that this shaver could be charged using a USB charger I rejoiced because it would not require yet another USB charger and ordered it despite the weak-minded design flaw to be described. The design flaw is that the connection to the shaver uses a unique connector (not a standard USB connector), thereby necessitating carrying a USB cable unique to this shaver instead of using one of those I already carry. As a reult, the benefit of reducing the number of chargers was imperfectly implemented. The design engineer(s) who thoughtlessly made the decision to use a unique connector should be fired! If the reader of this review doesn’t mind having to keep track of and carrying a unique charging cable then please ignore my criticism and accept my 5 star opinion of the excellent performance of this shaver.

I read the reviews prior to buying and they were consistent with what you get. I would like to note:- This works as a beard trimmer – very similar to what you may find as the trimmer tool on your foil type electric razor. I have the generic Braun and it is very similar- It will not provide a smooth shave like the foil part of you electric razor and definitely not like a blade razor – whether you use it with cream or notI have a light beard and sensitive skin and often only use the beard trimmer in my foil shaver as it is good enough and my stubble does not really show. I bought this product as a cheaper replacement to my Braun- which I have had 3 of and they tend to last 3 to 5 years before the battery becomes too short lived. It is about half the price so seemed to fit my needs.I also like that it is smaller and lighter than a conventional electric razor and charges via USB, so good for travelling. The head comes off, so it can pack very tight. It comes only with a cord – but that is fine as who needs yet another USB charger when everyone already carries one for their phone. This product is fairly ‘cheap’ if you will, but the price reflects it and it works for what it is.I have only had it for days – so can not attest to ultimate battery life and the claimed 5 years on the blades- but if it does last for 5 years, at this price it exactly fits my needs and is good value. Now if only they provided a toothbrush head to swap in – then you’d have the ultimate travel tool!

this thing is amazing. Trust me, buy it. Will work underwater, submerged. Wont need sharpening. Battery is amazing. Ive dropped it 50 times, it is indestructible. IT SHAVES AS CLOSE AS A GILLETTE RAZER (not exaggerating)
