Basic reading skills
I purchased this book to use with my 3rd grade students that are learning English. It says it’s for grades 2-3 but I feel like it’s even lower, however this ended up being perfect since one of my students has only been speaking and reading English for 10 months. I created 4-5 page packets for each lesson, such as short ‘a’ or short ‘e’ and this worked well for a 15 minute daily small group activity and the packet lasted all week. Would recommend purchasing for your professional library.

Good as a supplement for adult learners
I used this with a group of adult students with low literacy. The book canât be used alone and needs direct instruction to teach the concepts but the worksheets were appropriate and useful for my less experienced readers and this with learning disabilities.

Supplement for small group phonics older students.
This is not something struggling readers can do on their own. It is ok, not as good as some other phonics teachersâ resources. Seems to be for older grade 3-4 review maybe. It does have a basic pattern they follow for each page. I am using it in small group for my grade 2 students. This is Not seat work for grade 2 – use with teacher guidance.
