Update after 6 months of use:The sole has stared separating from the upper after just 6 months of mild use. Did not expect such poor quality from Salomon. There is no warranty on these shoes in Amazon, so please use your discretion before buying.Review after 1 weekThe shoes look great and have excellent quality as expected from Salomon. The shoes were shipped in original packaging with all labels attached. The upper material is textile and full grain leather, not the lower-quality PU-coated leather.I have used the shoes for hiking short distances in tropical locations and they were comfortable with good grip on wet surfaces and provide very stable foothold and ankle support. There were no abrasive areas. Even in the hot weather, my feet did not feel hot or sweaty so the membrane seems to be breathable.The sole does not flex much, and the ankle area is fairly firm. Overall it provides good foot and ankle support without impacting ankle movement.The shoes require break-in. They are also snug around the toes so i suggest going for wide size shoes if your feet are wide.Overall very satisfied with the product, the seller, and the price. These shoes seem to be excellent value for money.

Comfy, fairly durable
Probably not fit for hardcore use, but my feet feel great even after working on my feet all day long, and using them for light hiking on the weekends as well.They don’t last me any incredibly long time. After about a year they start wearing down a bit, but usually it’s just the laces tearing and the sole losing some of its cushion. Overall pretty durable.As for weatherproofing and breathability, I wear them year round and they don’t get TOO hot and sweaty on the summer, tho YMMV, and in the winter they’re warm enough for casual New England hiking etc. Pretty good waterproofing, I walked through a flooded parking lot, maybe 3 inches of water, and came out just fine, even almost a year in on this pair.I think they might be discontinuing these so I’ll grab a couple more and hope for the best in the future.

Very comfortable for a hiking boot! Go up half a size.
Just moved to Alaska and needed something for the dirt/ice/snowy terrain and these have been perfect! They are very waterproof and pretty warm, but i did switch out the insole for a warmer fur insole for the winter. However both insoles still make the boot feel like a regular sneaker. The laces are not that great though. I felt like they kept untying so i switched it out with a speed lace to avoid constant retying.Also, I wear size 10 in pretty much every brand except converse and i read reviews to go up half a size for these boots and they fit perfect like every other shoe for my size. so these are the only 10.5s I own.

September elk hunt
Ordered these hiking shoes for my upcoming elk hunt in Colorado. Arrived quickly and nicely packaged. I typical wear a 14 in tennis shoes and 14 in boots. I took the risk and purchased size 14Great looking hiking boot. Lined pretty well in the tongue to prevent water coming in. The size 14 fits well. Iâve yet to go on a hike and really test them out but from my experience with hiking boots, these are above par. For the sale price of less than 100, a great deal.Update- After a weekend of testing these boots out, Iâm super happy with the purchase. Very comfortable and light weight boot. Ankle support is 5/10 but itâs much better than a regular tennis shoe and less than a bulky and heavy boot. The first trip was coyote hunting and it performed well.The second trip was fishing where I had a to get the boot submerged over a majority of the boot. Feet never got wet. 10/10.My feet do tend to sweat at times during warmer days. These boots must provide some airflow because it occurred less.

Fits perfectly on day #1
I just replaced my old pair which lasted 3 years. I love how they fit and they are very light. I have had many hiking boots in the past and these are a great combination of sturdy yet not klunky. They fit true to size. The tread is the best, very good gripping on rocks and no mis steps because they fit so well and are not heavy. I hope they keep making these because they are the best fitting and functional boots EVER!

The Best!
My job of four years requires walking outside on various terrain an average of at least 5 miles a day. I have bought at least four pairs of shoes a year (I should have stock in shoes!). So far, I have seen not even the slightest signs of wear on the shoes, which is unusual as the job is labor intensive. The material is excellent. They provide a good support and function well on the various terrain. No slippage.I have been looking for a durable (and functional for the job) shoe and have listened for recommendations from colleagues. Now, I will strongly recommend Solomon shoes to my colleagues, and I will most definitely get another pair!

They didnât need much of a break-in and after going on a very challenging hike my feet were feeling ok. The size ran a bit small, so I would have ordered a half size up but other than that I am very happy.
