Excellent book for the classroom!
This is a fun and informative book to teach younger students how to use scissors! The story provides great opportunities to talk about the right and wrong ways to use their scissors.

Love this book
This was a great book for 3-4 year olds when learning to handle scissors. They learn the proper way to handle them or they go âon strikeâ. It is a great rhyming book for when 3-4 year olds are learning that words rhyming.

Fun Rhyming
This book is so much fun for back to school. It helps create a great discussion with students about how to use their scissors safely. Some of the words were a little advanced for kindergarten.

Cute story
Cute story and loved Crayons on Strike although that lesson seemed to go over my kindergarten students heads. As I was saying how we cherish our crayons in kindergarten as our important writing tools, we never throw away broken crayons because we can always take off the paper and use the side to shade our backgrounds- my students started breaking their crayons!!!!! Then running up to me and my co teacher with broken crayons!!! We were floored!!! But the book is adorable and so is this one and Pencils on Strike. Maybe my first graders will understand what I was saying.

Good teaching tool
Bought this to teach scissor expectations to kindergarteners. We have had to read it several times this year, but itâs a good read and helps them remember!

Scissor Care
This was a delightful book to read at the beginning of the year with your students about the importance of taking care of your scissors. I love how the school supplies have their own voices and that the children learn through this fictional tale of how to treat their scissors. Thank you for a fun read that is practical too!

Don’t Waste Your Money
As an art teacher, I thought the concept sounded great. Not so much. The story is boring amd the illustrations are not all that interesting either. In two days and four classes, I had three kids sleep through the story (and I’m a very dynamic reader). Most of the rhymes are approximate and the syllables vary so much from line to line, that you can’t even emphasize the rhymes for the little ones. I’ll be ordering something else or writing and illustrating my own book for my classes.
