Perfect for Booty Busting exercises like Hip Thrusts and Deadlifts
I’ve only had this product for a few days, so this review is based on my use during this time.I came across this product on Amazon after I did a search for Sorinex, as those were the bands recommended by Bret Contreras—the “Glute Guy” and foremost expert on glute training. I had never heard of Serious Steel Fitness, but the reviews were great and the product seemed like it was quality made, which is extremely important because I could only begin to think of the types of injuries caused by an inferior resistance band. Upon removing it from the plastic packaging, I felt I had made the right decision in my purchase. The band is thick and solid and the seam appears glued together very well.I am a big fan and follower of Bret Contreras. He provides solid, scientifically tested exercises for building your glutes. One of his signature moves is the Hip Thrust, either with bodyweight, barbells or bands. As I progressed passed bodyweight hip thrusts I started to use barbells, but I was having a difficult time engaging my glutes using this method. So I decided to experiment with bands, and I was really surprised at much harder my glutes were working doing it this way. At the same time, I also started having issues with deadlifts. I realized that I was not using the correct form and actually ended up getting some bulging discs. I did some research online and saw that resistance bands were a good alternative for barbell deadlifts (of course I’m limited in how much load I can get using a band, but for me at my level of fitness right now, this is a good solution.)I don’t have a gym membership and have only a few pieces of equipment in my home office. For my hip thrusts and deadlifts I take the Green #4 Serious Steel Fitness band and anchor either end onto a weighted barbell (photo attached). Also in the photo is how I use the band for hip thrusts—that is, I put my shoulders on the bench, get my body between the band and the barbell, place my feet flat on the floor and keep my legs perpendicular to the ground. **I need to say that this may not be the safest method, as my butt is directly over the bar (there shouldn’t be anything under your butt/back)**, but I am still able to bring my butt down low enough in order to get a good thrust at top, and have not hurt my back or butt yet. For more info on how to do a proper hip thrust I would Google ‘Bret Contreras band hip thrust’. For deadlifts, I simply take the proper stance and grab onto the band pulling upward for resistance while squeezing my glutes. What’s great about bands is that you can combine them for varying amounts of weighted resistance. I have lighter bands from another manufacturer, but this Green #4 SSF band offers a great level of resistance, and combined with my lighter bands allows me to go much heavier. Once I feel that I’ve progressed even further, I will definitely come back and purchase their black #5 band.

Good bands. Happy they’re back in stock!
I have used these bands since 2015 and have had great luck with them. I like these bands much more than bands that have either an anchor point on the wall, or a handle to hold onto. The anchor and handle are weak points, and I’ve seen too many photos of people who got injured when their anchor detached, or a handle broke. With this type of band, just loop it around something solid, and you’re good to go. Very little risk. For the most part these bands last, too. I’ve had to replace a couple of the smaller, purple bands. Not because of any fault in construction, maybe I just used them more. The red, blue, and orange (mini) bands have held up really great, though — and I’ve used them a LOT.Try these out if you’re looking to add bands into your workouts. They’re a good price and they’re well built.

    Versatile and Work Great.
These are big, heavy duty rubber bands. I purchased these to help me with pull-ups and chin-ups. I am very weak in the upper body, so I need a lot of assistance right now. I purchased the green band (I weigh 131-ish and the green will give you up 50 to 120 lbs of assistance). Okay, that’s embarrassing, but as I get stronger, I plan to step down to the blue, red, eventually none. You put your foot in the loop for the most assistance and then your knee for less assistance. Their instruction guide also comes with other exercises and uses for the bands so these are very versatile, which is why I chose them over the expensive bands that are sold solely for pull-up assistance. Those also don’t give as much assistance (the ones I looked at were 100 lbs of assistance and 50 lbs of assistance). When you place your order Serious Steel immediately emails you some .pdf guide books on training and pull-up usage. It is very easy to loop over your pull-up bar and pull one end of the loop through the other and tighten. You put one foot in the loop (I need a small step stool for this) and the band goes to the floor (with me) so I kick the stool out of the way so I get the full range of motion. I hold the free leg secure against the leg in the band and move through the movements slow so as not to swing. I think I can probably move down to the next band very soon. Overall very pleased!

Performs very well for hand exercises. No hand issues as I never use gloves. Exactly what a customer expects from a top resistance band company. I got what I paid for. The stretch for range of motion is perfect. I only used the bands with anchor points that are polished steel snap hooks and carabiners. I never use the fabric door anchors that cause excess friction to the bands.

The resistance band (purple) looks much bigger in the picture but actually is smaller. I have started using it and it seems ok as of now in terms of resistance it provides. The biggest let down is the rubber smell that comes from the band. I have another heavy duty resistance band from another vendor with me and it is much more better, doesn’t smell and looks far superior than this one. I purchased this as I got this as recommendation from one of the popular Fitness YouTube channel.I feel disappointed though as I paid almost 2000 rupees for this and got a sub-standard product.
