This inexpensive reel does exactly what it needs to do.
This is a good reel. Iâm 91 and my reel finally quit. I didnât want to spend a bundle. Ordered this one and it works good. Itâs a good buy.

Good reel at a low price
I have only been able to take it out once since I bought it. It performed well, the line was easy to strip and I could reel in easily. I got the yellow line so I could see it in the river and I didn’t have any problems whether casting into an area with full sun or in the shade up under a bank or some bushes.
My only concern is that it feels a lot lighter than I expected. I have some concerns that it will break the first time I slip and bang it on a rock. As other reviewers have said for the price I can buy another one, but I prefer to fish rather than wait for another Amazon package.

Nice reel and line priced well.
I have several fly reels but wanted one to match up with an Eagle Claw light weight fly rod. Figured that I’d try this one and it was a good choice. For the price it’s nicely made, feels pretty solid and the fly line seems quite serviceable. Haven’t had a chance to fish it yet but it’ll be used most of the time fishing for Bluegills in one of our local Forest Preserve lakes and should be fine. Matching that rod and this reel is an economical way to get a fly fishing kit started and proves that fly fishing need not be so pricey that it keeps the beginner away.

crap
A great example of refined Chinese Crap. Advertised as “large Arbor”. It is not. Horrible line. FYI line on reel backwards! Caveat emptor.

4.5 stars – a large arbor reel with real value at a low price!
I love this reel. Large arbor with a quiet retrieve. And smooth adjustable drag that isn’t too noisy. I have 3 of these now which not only gives me spares and/or holds different lines, but more importantly – peace of mind. With this reel I don’t get upset if I have to drop my rod (and reel) on a rock when falling/slipping/scrambling over the boulders and cascades in the rivers I often fish. 1/2 star off for long term durability. But given the low $, I can replace as needed!

Perfect for my ultralight fly rod
Feels solid and the retrieve is nice and smooth. Great value for the price. Much nicer than the previous reel I had on this setup. I donât know how good the drag is as I wonât be putting it under much stress with this rod, but most people wonât need a drag system on a 3 wt setup.

Very impressed with the quality of this product for the price point. I have changed it to be righ handed reel. Very easy to do. Just remove the metal clip and turn the nut through 180 degrees. Take literally 2 mins. Looking forward to using it anger soon on the trout lakes.
