    Wowwwww!!
I don’t know what to say!!! This book is simply awesome!! What a unique style of talking about kindness!! Yes, kids will learn the various ways of showing kindness. Yes, the illustrations will dazzle the little ones and the grown ups!! Parents can take away so many conversation points to have with their children. And the best part, in the end, children will learn about real life famous people who showed kindness in their own way!! I simply loved that!! I won’t say more …but please check this book out!!!

    Loved it!
With sweet rhyming text and adorable illustrations kids will learn what kindness truly means. “Can you spot the famous people?”, is an awesome bonus with a show and tell quality, educating kids on real people from history doing amazingly kind things. In a world where kids are taught they can be anything, it reminds them that the most important thing is to be KIND. Thanks Michael!

Good lesson for all of us!
The beautiful illustrations will bring the story to life as children read it. The book is about sharing kindness, but what exactly IS kindness? The story will answer that as it is read. This is a rhyming story, but the rhythm is all over the place. Most children won’t notice it because they will be concentrating on the words, and at this age they won’t understand the rhythm or meter. However, this is a pet peeve of mine, and it took away a star. As a poet for over 60 years, I firmly believe that most people think they hate poetry because they haven’t had much experience with GOOD poetry. When one DOES encounter a good example, it can be a lifelong pleasure. I still remember a poem that was read to our class in the fourth or fifth grade. In fact I still quote it from time to time. It was silly but a lot of fun! Children deserve good poetry! “Once there was an elephant who tried to use the telephunt. No! No, I mean an elephone who tried to use the telephone….”Having said all that I want to point out that this story is not really bad poetry. It’s just not a great example of meter which I don’t believe will bother readers in this age group as noted above. It probably won’t matter to the children, but it is important to me. I can’t just sweep it under the rug and pretend it isn’t there. Sorry.

    a lovely and needed book
Michael’s books always have a wonderful message… and this one may be my favorite yet. In a world that needs more love and kindness, this book shows children how they can be the change the world desperately needs. Another fabulous book to add to your children’s library!

This book fits wonderfully with the rest of the series! It’s warm and engaging language brings kids in and lets them absorb the gentle lesson of kindness. We especially enjoyed learning about the real-life inspirations behind some of the characters!Kindness is a word that gets thrown around a lot in our culture and it was nice to see the author give kids some on-the-ground advice of how we can show kindness in this world.

The minute I opened this book I fell in love. I’ve followed Michael’s work for some time now but this is my first time actually acquiring a copy. The little characters just shine from the pages. Each page spread explains to children the many ways they can show kindness. In the world we seem to be living in, this is such a valuable thing to learn; that kindness does not have to be some huge gesture, it can be small but mean so much to the recipient. I love the rhyming – this helps the child follow along.I also got a huge, lovely surprise at the end of the book. I’m not going to spoil the surprise but Michael, I wasn’t expecting that.If one child learns how to be kind, that’s success, but if all children who read this or have it read to them learn kindness, that gives us hope.Love, love, love it.
